Hard to choose, really. FPS would be a contention between Doom and Chronicles of Riddick. Adventure...holy crap you don't want me to list all the Sierra and Lucasarts titles do you? RPG...basically everything that's uh good, from Deus Ex to System Shock, from Baldur's Gate to Fallout. Strategy Heroes of Might and Magic III, this is a sure winner lol
