Rubacava

I've only completed Grim Fandango once. The first time was so long ago i can't remember what i did to get out of the god forsaken city of Rubacava. Now when i play from this point, i do everything you have to according to the walkthrough (i think) but when it comes to going to see Nick for the second time he never comes out of Maximino's office! How do i get him to come out? Am i missing something? Is there a specific puzzle i have to solve before he comes out or is it just a bug in my game?

I can tell you that much that it's not a bug. I think he only comes out after you've completed something. Do you have the picture of him and Olivia yet?
