I love you Yufster, but you neglect us then every five months you start a thread about Psychonauts. I'm boycotting these threads, but that's an empty threat cause I just broke my boycott. Damn.

There's no earthly way of knowing which direction we are going. There's no knowing where we're rowing or which way the river's flowing. Is it raining? Is it snowing? Is a hurricane a-blowing? Not a speck of light is showing, so the danger must be growing. Are the fires of hell a-glowing? Is the grisly reaper mowing? Yes, the danger must be growing 'cause the rowers keep on rowing, and they're certainly not showing any signs that they are slowing. AAAGGHHH!!!

Great game. Although I didn't want to spoil too much by watching the trailers etc. it's pretty much how I imagined it to be. But better.

Gameplay has 28/10/2005 listed as the release date in the UK (It's for Xbox, but PC and XBox versions should come out at the same time). I hope that date is wrong

Every once and a while on G4TV they show a flash of the "Let's make out!" scene.

Yeah, I hope so too. Unless the UK has more than 28 months in a year.

The british write there dates as DD/MM/YYYY, unlike the US, where it's MM/DD/YYYY. We won' get into why here because it'll just start and argument.

But why wait, just order it from Gamestop in the US, so you get it a couple of days later, better than a few months.

Oh, and the demo's awsome, completed it three times. I won't go into my review here because I already posted that in the razputin.net forums (just go through mojo)

The October date is incorrect, there hasn't been a date set yet for Europe. I'm guessing late spring early summer.

Apparently they've got a lot of localising to do for the UK version, and they've only just started...

Nothing technical though (is it?)

I'm guessing it's just making joeks make sense and so on. Technically, if you want it in english, the american version should work fine. I'm not really that bothered as long as I can play it.

I don't think the UK version will require much localization work, short of add/replacing a few words in the subtitle script. I especially doubt that they'll be rewriting any jokes for our benefit. I'd imagine that it's the other European language translations that would add the delays, and since we're part of Europe we get pulled into the delay. The same thing happened for Metal Gear Solid 3.

If you're getting it for the PC though, you may as well just import the US version. There shouldn't be any running problems whatsoever, and many US distributors don't have particularly heavy shipping costs.

I've not had it as my avatar for a long time. I only went crazy about that game and got the avatar about a week ago . Jake has had a Psychonauts avatar for ages, so it's probably him you were thinking of.

Double Fine (Tim Shafer's company) have been working on Psychonauts for a long time, and released some concept art type stuff ages ago, and people started noticing the game then... probably because it is by Tim, who also made Grim Fandango, Full Throttle and Day of the Tentacle.

Do either EB Games or Gamestop ship to the UK?

Yep, and it's relatively cheap, too. I mean, the PC version + shipping (to Germany) costs as much as a PS2/Xbox version without shipping. Considering the good exchange rate lately, it would be a shame to wait for the European release. I couldn't find the rates for shipping to the UK at EBgames, though.

You get a nice pre-order bonus!

I tried gamestop (I wanted the t-shirt) but for some reason it simply wouldn't work. I may now try EB.

And, fealiks, whilst i'm no authority on the game in any way (except that I've been following it's progress for about three or four months now), www.razputin.net has all the info you need.

NiKo, if anything, you may as well try the demo to see if you like the game, you'll find a lot of Schafer-esque humour in it. And, if you don't like the game, all you've wasted is a bit of time downloading and playing the game (beware of 470Mb download)

This demo is the best thing in the world. Hell Christ Jesus. I want to be buried with a copy of Psychonauts. Oh, and also, I don't want to ever be buried as I plan to live forever, playing Psychonauts to eternity. Oh boy.

What a great and funny and fun and playable and awesome and cool demo this is!

This boat we're in together sure is cozy, ain't it?

Luckily, my federal tax return will cover an Xbox, and the state one will buy the game itself! Probably the game first! And soon...so soon...so soon!

It'd be great irony if I somehow died of pleasure before even playing the damn game.

Pixel shading 3.0 is overrated.
