I knew that one of them was right, but I wasnt sure which - i heard explanations for both theories.

I suppose that someone should ask a question

Q: Who was EV-9D9?

jedispy, thats a pretty awful bootleg you have there

* * *

EV-9D9 was the droid that enjoyed torturing other droids in jabbas palace, in ROTJ.

* * *

The "Ive got a bad feeling about this" topic was actually asked very early in this quiz. Dont waste space by regurgitating such things

* * *

New Question :

Q. What was special about the waterfalls ILM created for Naboo in episode 1 and 2 ?

Actually I'm pretty sure guybrooms second answer was right, not the first. Here's a good explanation
Good explanations are nice and all, but actual movie footage shows the force lightning hitting Palpatine in the face. For example: Decipher's SWCCG has a good explanation of Ki Adi Mundi as being the only Jedi council member that was not a Jedi Master. However, actual movie footage from ROTS falsified this when Anikan said there has never been a non-master on the council. I mean no disrespect, but movie footage is cannon. That's why we never hear anyone ever talking about the "Bogan" or planet Utapau (from GL's first draft of SW). Unless it's in a SW movie, then it is either non-cannon, or it is EU

EDIT:EEPS!!! O.k. so I was wrong about Utapau. It is mentioned in ROTS. It's where Kenobi kills Greivous. Still my point is the same. Unless mentioned in a SW movie, SW information is either EU(accepted but still non-cannon), or non-cannon(not accepted).

jedispy, thats a pretty awful bootleg you have there
<sheepish>Officially I know nothing about any bootlegging. Officially, the images I have are taken from third parties whose identities are unknown.

Officially.
</sheepish>
Anyway, segments of ep1 & 2 where padme isn't herself.

EP1 I would guess is whenever her decoy Sabe is filling in (such as at the Gungan sacred hiding place) However I am not sure if this is correct because although she was not playing Padme Amidala the queen of Naboo, she was playing Padme the handmaiden. You'd think that it would have made sense for her handmaiden code name would be Sabe, but I guess I missed that phone call when George Lucas wanted my opinion.

EP2 is in the beginning sequence when Zam Wessel blows up the Naboo cruiser, and Padme was actually a pilot onboard one of the starfighters.

If right then:
Q: In AOTC, who was it that wanted Padme Amidala dead? (hint, the answer I'm looking for is not the Trade Federation or Nute Gunray)

I really need to crack open my DVDs and watch them again.
yes Chase, that's right. (Jango does refer to Dooku by the name Tyranus, so Obi Wan doesnt make the connection when on Kamino) Of course, we can assume that Sidious is directing it all but it is never openly admitted in any movie dialogue.

The bongo is the Gungan submarine in which Qui-Gon and Obi with Jar-Jar travelled to the Theed palace.
The booma is a Gungan weapon, the deadly round balls in Episode I which are thrown by hand, sling or something equivalent of those.
The fambaas are the huge four-legged dudes carrying the shield generators in the battle of Naboo.

Pass it, baby!

Astro, in the old trivia thread (v2.0 - got deleted, remember?) you said that there would be a score tally or something like that. (I'm going to guess it's something like you had in the EU trivia thread, in my brief experiance.) So where is it?

Q: What is the last English word spoken in ROTJ (not including the singers in the score.)

Not sure if this is correct, but in the message he wanted the it retransmitted to Coruscant (since his holonet transmitter was too damaged to make it to Coruscant alone.)

I think it was in hopes that the Jedi council would send reinforcements.

pass if correct.

well i'll say it's right:

I was thinking that because he said it in the arena when they were captured, I thought he was waiting for Anakin to be there or captured or something. I guess i hadnt really thought that one out too well.

But I suppose that you got it right.

Not so fast. That's only one species. There are more than one. The question actually implied plural (is "species" plural, or is it specieses or something like that?)

So far you're only partially right

yes, everyone seems to be jumping the gun

sure, chewie had a life-debt to Han. This was established way before EU even got off the ground, so it is arguably not EU, moreso bacikground info on the characters....just like we know "ewoks" but they are never named in the movies

However, and very importantly so, jedispy is referring to a movie specific example, in this case the Gungans. Qui Gon saved Jar Jars life on Naboo - Upon discussing with Boss Nass, he saved Jar Jar from punishment(hopefully it would have been death) by asking that Jar Jar honour his life debt.

so i'll give Chase and myself a point

Oh - i forgot about the gungans. Woops.

A: I'm guessing that you mean Amidala's ship - therefore it would be the Naboo Royal Cruiser - but i think there is more than that, so ill pass.

(why is it i never think i have the correct or whole answer?)

In answer to the question is the answer "J-type 327 Nubian"?
I'm after it's name, not its make/model. But I will give Chase a point because Nubian is mentioned in the movie... Im upping teh ante on the current question, 2 points up for grabs !

I said NAME !!!! Like, Fred, Bill, Terry. The ship had a freakin NAME !!!

Answer : Marie Celeste Check the novelsiation.... It was called this as a cheeky reference to the famous ghost ship "Mary Celeste" whose passengers/crew vanished off the coast of portugal in 1872.

It is only EU if it originates entirely in EU and never appears or is mentioned in any movie, novelisation/script or CW episode. Anything that falls into a 'grey area' will be dealt with as it arises

with this question, I gave Chase a point for "Nubian" even though it wasnt the answer I was after, but it was in the movie

so, that said, back to the question !

I know it was supposed to be via remote control. However the POS didn't work, so I think it was instead something like they pulled him with a rope or line

I will wait for confirmation before asking a question

Little Kenny Baker is in R2 for the 'sidewards jitters' he does when he gets excited

However, in the sand dunes of Tunisia(Tatooine), R2s treads simply wouldnt roll through the sand(regardless of whether his RC was functioning or not). So, as jedispy has mentioned, they put him on a little platform and dragged him with a rope for that shot when he rolls away from the camera after splitting up from 3P0

New Question

Q. What was George Lucas' original idea for Threepios voice, before he chose Anthony Daniels natural english accent ??

[EDIT]..No takers ??
A.George Lucas originally envisioned Threepios voice to be a wise talkin new york car salesman (sorta like Andrew Dice Clays voice is the best example I can think of)... Im glad he *didnt* do that because that wouldve SUCKED:

...hmmmm. Let me rephrase that :

Q. In ANH, Obi Wan felt the destruction of Alderaan as a great disturbance in the force. What words did he used to describe this ?

It was something like:

"I felt a great desturbance in the force, as if millions of voices screamed out in terror and then were suddenly silenced."

I'm not sure about the 'millions of voices' bit.

DUCK!!!! It's Duck. It is first mentioned by Captain Panaka in TPM on Naboo. Interestingly enough, George Lucas seems to have a fascination with ducks. The most obvious is Howard the Duck the movie, but in the novel A New Hope, Obi Wan says something to Luke about a duck flying and quacking (can't remember the exact words). Luke replies with "what's a duck?" In TPM, you can actually see ducks during the scene where the Gungan "bongo" surfaces in the water near Theed Palace.

I am not sure if that was actually a question in play, but I thought it would be fun to answer.

Q: Earth is planet number 3 in the Sol solar system. In the Hoth system, what number is planet Hoth?

jedispy will have to furnish us with the answer, my guess is 3, nut thats only a guess.

In the meantime, here is a new question

Q. What did Peter Cushing(Tarkin in ANH) have to do when in the same camera shot as the very *tall* David Prowse(Vader) and the moderately *tall* Carrie Fisher(Leia) ?

*hints*

There are (as i count them) 4 Dugs in the whole anthology. There are of course none in the OT since Dugs weren't designed yet. They are only in the prequels.
The first one is of course Sebulba.

The last 3 are all in AOTC

As I stated, these are the only ones I can see. I didn't see any in ROTS, but if anyone can correct me, then I say they deserve an extra point.

I'm thinking either have stilts, stand on a box, or have high-heeled shoes... I'll say he stood on a box.

Yes Moeller, Cushing, who wasnt 100% well during the shoot, stood on the box in his slippers. Carrie Fisher has said that fliming those scenes were really difficult/weird because :
a) Cushing was such a lovely man it was hard to pretend to hate his guts.
b) the screen that shows alderaan in the movie was blank in real life of course. I think they had a paper or plate or something up there as a reference
c) Cushing stood on a box in his slippers, between takes he would wrap himself in a blanket to stay warm!
