I'd probably buy a huge house and stuff to go in it, live in complete isolation with no direct human contact. I'm not a people person, he he.

hmm, i've never thought about this one. maybe i'd finally break down and attempt to play the Final Fantasy games. no guarentees on actually finishing them, much less any guarentees on the "wholeness" of your Playstation controller.....

of course, i could try listening to some boy bands for two hours w/o puking my guts out....

then you'd need the million dollars for hospital expenses, at least in the US.

A Million Dollars doesn't go very far, a half-decent house will set you back at least half to 3/4 of the million alone... add a nice vehicle to that and you are almost broke...

Just a thought...

Sadly, Redhawke, that's true. If you already have a house, it'll go a long way, but won't set you for life. Ah, well. I'd still like a million dollars!

EDITED FOR PUNCTUATION.

I would watch a porno with my parents.

Battle is a pure form of expression. It is heart and discipline, reduced to movement and motion. In battle, the words are swept away, giving way to actions-- mercy, sacrifice, anger, fear. These are pure moments of expression.

Well $1m is only a little over half a million pounds over here which is barely gonna get you a good house in London. Still, I might be willing to listen to all the Jar-Jar dialogue from Eps 1 and 2 spliced together and then looped over and over for 24 hours straight...
...Well maybe 12 hours straight...
...6 hours...
...5 minutes...
nah, forget it.

It's all about location

In TN, you can get a really nice house for around $150,000 - $250,000

but go to New York where the market value just recently went up and just a loft lease can easily run you a half-million...

A million dollars isn't as much as it used to be. Have you ever noticed how many lotto winners go bankrupt?

That said, I would go on, and win, Fear Factor for a million dollars.

That's because humans are stupid. They get a million and instead of spending responsibly, they go on spending sprees and end up flushing all of their cash on crappy stuff.

well, that would depend on how you look at it. first, you have to realize that most people don't really make money: they spend it. the 10% of the American population that actually makes money also hold over 90% of America's wealth. the other 90% of the population, on the other hand, is largely in debt and lives from paycheck to paycheck.

now, when you look at the lottery, you have to realize that the large majority of those that buy the lotto tickets are those that spend money instead of making it. if they're used to spending money all the time, an increase in money is only going to increase their spending. thats why the lottery winners usually end up broke: the winners just keep doing the same things they've always done, and thats to spend money.

its not that they're stupid, its just that they don't realize that investment (making money) is a much better choice than to continually spend their money.

That's not exactly true. A hardworking man can have a habit of saving up cash and using it in a smart manner.

But I do agree about the people who buy lottery tickets being spenders.

Pointless to buy those things. There's hardly any chance of winning.

You're lucky for houses to be so cheap, ChAiNz. Where I live, a good house costs around $430,000.

@LIAYD:
thats a special case that doesn't fit the statistics. and i'm sure that some people like that do exist, but they are most definately not in the majority. the fact is that the majority of Americans (~90%) spend more than what they earn and have amassed a sizeable amount of debt.

if you want citations, then ask me for some in the morning when i feel like digging out the paper i wrote last semester on this same exact subject.

The fear factor contestants only get 50,000. Some of the stuff doesn't look super bad but some stuff, like the liquified bugs, I dunno if I could even try to do.

I'd probably throw a rock at a bear for a million dollars.

Yeah, I had noticed the farther North I go, the more expensive it is to even "live"...

When I lived in Michigan, even the small "not-so-nice" houses were uber-expensive... (not to mention maintenance for the harsh weather)...

I guess living in the Southern "time warp" has it's advantages hehehe...

Anywho, after I take dirty pics of LIAYD and post them I'd say I'd spend some of my million on just "grown-up toys" (everyone has to go crazy at least a little).. then do my standard "old fart" habits and invest in my IRA, my 401k and my Savings...

Hell, with a little under a million in savings alone I could live off the interest

OH yeah... invest in real estate (people will always need land)...

That's not what I said is it ED?

Try buying a decent fully loaded car with $250,000, you won't have much left... the high end of the standard production auto markets are up to around $90,000 for a top of the line, fully loaded model. Now if you start talking Exotics/Imports you could easily eat up the $250,000.

What is a "Decent" car? That all veries drastically pending personal tastes... Me personally, I'd go for a 1967 Shelby GT-500, but I'm strange that way.

Why... I think I’d ...eat a klondike bar? O_o

hmm... I think I'd strip naked and run through a cornfield while perverts shoot me with paintballs.

^ The above statement was based an factual events.

Not that I'VE done it. I just heard that women actually get paid lots of money to do that. It might not be true... *shrug*

Actually now that I think about it... being shot with a paintball gun whilst naken would farkin hurt. Espeically for girls. Being shot in the tit would hurt like hell. I get bruises from being shot WITH clothes on. *shudders* I withdraw the above statement about running through the field naked.

I've received many, many, many, many many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many soccers balls right on my balls. I can't have babies anymore.

Playing paintball with the right clothes on already hurts like hell. Wouldn't like to be shot while naked.
