Put the resref of the model and texture in the model*/tex* columns in appearance.2da that corresponds to the base item type you wish to replace the appearance of. This has to be done for all appearance types/lines that should have this new appearance.

For example, if you want to replace the model of the revan/starforge robes base item, set the modelj column to "N_DarthBand" and texj column to "N_DarthBand" for all lines in appearance.2da you wish to use the new model.

What part of it? You create a new item blueprint (UTI) and set it to use a baseitem value that uses the columns in appearance.2da where you have put your new model and texture. Check the bodyvar column in baseitems.2da to see which column in appearance.2da each base armor/clothes item uses for its model.

For example base item index 89 (Revan/starforge robes) have a bodyvar value of "J", meaning they use the modelj/texj columns. Thus setting the BaseItem field in your item blueprint to 89 will make that robe look like the revan/starforge robes, or whatever model you have set in their place.

There is no model that currently use's that model by default in game. You will find it in the mdl & mdx files though. You need to choose which armor model you want this to replace.

For example RedHawke extracted the model files and renamed them to PMBM for the Zeison Sha & Jal shey armors. Where as Prime did a .2da edit and changed "modelj" (which was the model for Revan's and the star forge robes from K1) to "n_darthband".

These methods both work just remember there is no Bandon model for the females, so your will be Gender speceific.

Through this world we fight for good or for evil it does not matter. In the end all that really matters is that we choose and go forth.

Making poor mod users unnecissarily merge appearance.2da files just because we modders are being lazy is just so KOTOR I... J/K!
