Exclamation Pg-13

As I saw on the news, the ratings association has reportedly rated ROTS PG-13! This is big news! Tell me if you hear anything else!

You sure that's reliable? 'coz that'll be a blow to LF, since that would be the first movie to go past PG.

Anyways, it's fine for me since I'm past 13 and here the rating cannot possibly go beyond U/A.

George Lucas has said it will be PG-13 all along, so it's no surprise.

in the UK it will probably get the 12A rating, which means anyone under the age of 12 needs to be accompanied by an adult

It's no surprise, but it's still a disapointment. I'm old enough to see it, but I feel sorry for all the kids that have to wait until its out on dvd or video.

Im not up to date with how they rate it. What would make it so bad it would need a higher rating?

I'd flip out if it was R.

Empire had it been released later on would've gotten PG-13 no doubt. Luke being gimped, Han being tortured, all that stuff.

It has been known for sometime that Revenge of the Sith would get a PG-13 rating, as admitted by George Lucas in an interview due to its dark nature. For me, it would seem fitting that the saga finale would be given such a mark. I still dont see being a blow to Lucasfilms since a lot of fans will be 13 and over, and most parents wont care if their children under 13 see it because its Star Wars. and if some little brat suffers nightmares from Anakin or General Grevious, then I personally applaud GL for a job well done.

you sick, twisted little b*****d! (i agree! )

also, just a thought. Im in britan and we dont have PG-13 ratings. So what does it mean? Im guessing it's like out 12A rating which means anyone under 12 can see it, but only with an adult.

I think it might show a little of the jedi carnage, but i'm not sure if they will show it all. I know for certain they will show the death of ZETT JUKASSA, all I know of him is he is a Jedi Padawan, he must be important if they made an action figure out of him.

Question Movie Rating

I heard yesterday that the movie might be rated PG-13. Has this been a long-running rumor, or is it true/false?

From what I understand, this is confirmed. It is the first star wars movie to be rated this, mainly because it is a bit gorior due to it being a dark movie.

Welcome to a month ago. It was confirmed a long while back that it will be pg-13. The tv spots even say it at the end now.

Yeah heres a reason:

spoiler:
Well when annie turns to the dark side he goes to the jedi temple. Well there are some of the kids we saw in Ep 2 (Training with yoda) that are in the room that annie comes into. So they come out and say "Oh hello master Anakin" and then annie takes out his light sabar. And slice and dice

Due to the amount of threads on the subject, I have merged 2 threads together to make this one. but in the future, use the Search Function, as it is there for your convenience.

Also, in the future, check the Revenge of the Sith FAQ for such information, and if you do have new info for the FAQ and can provide solid evidence, it will be updated as such.

The search function has been disabled for a while now... But you should still at least look on the first page (that's the minimum ) before you create a new thread.

Actually, if you look at the bottom part of the Forum page (not of any posts) , you will see a "Search This Forum" with a white text box and go button and I just used it to search for any threads with the PG-13 phrase in it and it worked.

[Edit:After further investigation, I have noticed that the Search Function is disabled for regular users.]

Sorry about that, I should've looked further.

I am very surprised at this though - George Lucas has pandered to the younger set for the last two movies, so why is he changing it now?

Fixed.

Why has he changed? Because this is the birth of Darth Vader, one of the most vile, despicable, villians ever in cinematic history. He is the Dark Lord of the Sith. Some people are incapable of grasping exactly what that means, this will show them all. And this is the link up from the good kid to the most twisted despot in the universe.

No, I meant the last two - though definitely moreso Episode I. The other movies focused more on human interactions and "drama" while the last two were special effects and some cutesy characters. (Not that they were that bad)

I don't know where you've been, but all 5 movies so far have been childrens movies. All featuring new innovations in special effects, and containing cute characters.

One and Two also focus on human interaction and emotional exploitation. You're just deluded by your fanboyism.

If you watched the documentaries, you'll see how George intended his movies to attract kids. I would say Episode I is probably the most "kid-friendly" of the saga, but that's not how it was intended. Look at the senate scenes - when I first watched the movie I was like seven or nine (I forgot which year it came out), and I had absolutely no idea what they were talking about.

It's not like if you're under 13 you can't get into the theater to see it. Have a parent take you, or just buy tickets yourself (the people selling tickets are usually teenagers, and thus don't care). Hell, buy tickets to a kids movie and then sneak in, most theaters don't have guards checking to see if you're in the right movie.

Can't find a way to get in? Then you don't deserve to see it in theaters.
