My WIP

I'm new to the boards so I thought I would say hi. Hi!

Right now I'm working on a blond PC character (see my avatar), silver bladed lightsaber, 8 new lightsaber colors, Jedi Consular Pack, 6 new Force crystals, new jedi robes, and putting back a few things the creators left out of the game. This is all for KotOR 1 and all of it will be put in the game so there won't be a need for cheats. I haven't got K2 yet.

I'll post pix as soon as I can if you want to see them.

If you have any ideas or requests just PM me and I'll see what I can do. I can do just about anything when it comes to textures and coding.

Thanks and I hope to speak to you all more soon!

Welcome to the forums! I see you are either a quick learner or have done some modding before.

If you want ideas/old requests, take a look at the Mod Requests Sticky Thread at the top of this forum. In the first post, T7Nowhere provided links back to previous incarnations of the thread when there were mod requests for KotOR1. (See Mod Request Thread #2 and the first half of #3, esp.)

Welcome to the forums! The more the merrier!

I saw from your profile your occupation:

yes, you'll fit in quite perfectly around here hehehe...

and it's good to see that KotOR I hasn't lost it's mod appeal. Too good of a game to give up on IMO

Hurray! I don't have KOTOR II yet either, so it's nice to see that mods are still coming out for it. To my knowledge this is the first KOTOR I mod since TSL was released.

There's been quite a few more released (especially recently)

Though that doesn't mean more aren't welcome
I still play KotOR even though I have TSL too, so new mods are always great to see

OHH great just what I need, more competition in the Wise @$$ department.

All kidding aside welcome to the boards. It's always nice to see female modders join up as it helps further crush the myth that women have NO interest in computers or scifi or any of this genre.

If you need a hand with any of the projects your working on I'm sure any of us will glad to answer whatever questions you have. Many of us are just a PM away for more detailed help.

Welcome to the boards

As Achilles said, from what you have on you site, I am sure everyone is eager to see what you will come up with for Kotor!

That's true! However we encourage members to post their questions on the boards inasmuch as possible instead of using PM as the answers may help other people too. Most of the time when you have a question, other people tend to have the same question

Thanks for the great welcome!
Here's some previews of a PC character I've made. I call her Mariana. She's wearing another mod of mine (The Consular Robes) but I'll post that later.

A nice closeup:

A closeup of the back from Carth's P.O.V.:

A full body shot baby:

She has custom undies too but I forgot to screenshot those. I'll do that later.

THEY'RE UP!!!

I just finished updated my website and I added all of the mods that I've finished so far. Just go to my website --> Games --> Mods

http://www.btstudios.us/

I forgot to add the mod that included everything so some of the mods aren't compatible with others. (The Silver and Color Crystals is all I can think of.) I'll make a mod to combine all of my mods together soon. I just need to get some sleep right now...

Cool beans.

Sleep? Don't you know your a modder now there is no such thing as sleep. Your only allowed to sleep after you've had feedback from 10 other modders. Didn't you know that.

So glad you likes them!!

I'm working on more right now! I think I may even be able to figure out the lightsaber coding and make the holy grail of modding.... a glowing black lightsaber blade.

I had to get some sleep yesterday because today I went out a bought a bunch of Star Wars stuff and that had UPCs you could send off to get even more Star Wars stuff.

Not sure what you had in mind for black sabers, but I thought that I should point out that (at least) two mods have been made along these same lines: Svosh's and Gameunlimited's. Why both gentlemen decided to put these mods at the bottom of their pages, I don't know

Anyways, if you had something else in mind, I'm sure there are people who would love to see it. Otherwise, just thought I'd save you some time.

Cheers.

I've seen those. I plan on making something that looks more like a lightsaber than a blurring black stick. Maybe a "blacklight" saber... have to go dig up my old blacklight and see what it looks again...

Blacklights either have a black bulb or a really dark purple bulb. The light they emit is not actually black it is typically a dark blue/purple in color. Just figured I would chime on this since the term blacklight is misnomer the light itself is never black and the bulb itself rarely is.

Hey Cate, I am not sure why you had to replace Revans robes with yours when they have the same bonuses as Masters Robes, All you should have had to do was modify the uti to have your custom names, descriptions, numbers and texture variences.

Not hassling you, just curious why you replaced those robes

It has the same bonuses as a Master Robe but it's a completely different model. They only way I could figure out on how to get it into the game was to replace one of the other clothing models. (I made most of these mods before I could even post here at Holowan so I did everything by trial and error without any help.)

Is there another was to get the model in there without replacing anything? If so, let me know and I can update all my robes.

Oh, and yeah I have a blacklight. Bulb looks black when it's off but when it's on it looks dark violet with a strange black/violet glow.

I like the saber crystals, especially the purple, pink and cobalt ones. Makes some nice colour combinations for my dual wielding Revan. The pink crystal didn't show up at the shop. The .utm had g_w_sbrcrstl67 in its inventory instead of bt_w_etc..

Thanks for letting me know about the bug. I'll fix the shop code and update the file as soon as NCIS is over.

Any other color requests? Just let me know. I'm working on some Sith robes (like my New Jedi robes) right now (well, after NCIS)..

If I have to catch this evenings episode of NCIS in reruns this summer because of satelite problems tonight I'm going to be miffed. That program is like a religion for me right next to the trio of CSI's and JAG.

Sorry to derail for a moment there.

Hee, I didn't notice its a different model as I went ahead and modified all my robes to use Jolee's clothes model (males) and the starforge robes (females) Sorry about that.

The only way I can thik off hand to not replace anything is to add a new line to baseietms.2da by copying the line for what ever robe you are using for this and then changing the defense bonus and dexterity maximums to the same as the ones for the master robes. Then reference that line in your uti files. (And by doing the baseitems.2da modifications you can add properties so that they need to have certain feats to wear the robes.)

The problem with this is though that others might have a modified baseitems.2da file already so you would have to tell them which ines to copy and paste in their version and what number to modify in the uti files for the robes.

Will be interested in seeing what you can do with this in game and might even ask you to port it over to TSL sometime.

I tried adding a new collumn to the baseitems.2da, I think. Or maybe it was the appearence.2da... I may have another go at it later.

I'm still up dating files and I made some new one's including a male version of the Smuggler's Wear and a line of new Sith robes. Still have some work to do on the robes. Here's a preview of one:

I'm still working on the lightsaber. I haven't created what I want yet but I have discovered some really cool lightsaber effects. ..

Here's one of the effects I found...

The thought of rainbow lightsabers and clear-core lightsabers come to mind....

I asked one of my friends who is a professional coder to help me with this but he just told me to ask the guys at Bioware how the effects work and send along a photo of me in my Original Series Star Trek uniform (if you've seen one, you'll know what I mean) and then he said they'd probably tell me anything I want to know....

I'll get the stuff updated along with some new stuff by the end of the day.

I'll be a great modder someday? *jumps for joy* Cool!

I was looking around you site. You are a great artist.
No wonder your Kotor mods look so good.

The PC head you used is my favourite, of either game. Next time I play K1, I'm going to use it.

I could probably type a novel to rival "War and Peace" about how great your robes are.

Its great to see another Trek fan here, too. I thought I was the only Star Trek AND Star Wars fan in existance. (Up till recently I considered it an oxymoron) It's cool though, because I can fit in with nerds anywhere. Well, exept D&D.HEHEHE

Great work!!

Hey- nice work! One question tho, are both the new jedi robes and your counsular item pack compatible?
