General Grievous
Now we've actually seen him, what did you think?
Personally I was pretty dissapointed. The whole coughing thing didn't instil the fear and power I was expecting and I would have liked him to be part of the wipe-out of the Jedi...shame we didn't see him in his glory and a pretty wasted character in my opinion.
Thoughts?

I liked him.
His lungs were crushed by Mace Windu, he's going to cough because that's what happens.
His character was finely detailed in clone wars. He served his purpose in the movie, anything more would be overkill, because it's too off-focus of the story. He was merely an obstacle obi-wan was to overcome to show the audience he's capable of taking on Vader.

I think he was also necessary to space the events happening on Coruscant. They needed a test to see if Palpatine would lay down his powers when the war was over. If that happened right when he came back, the whole timetable would be jumbled, and the plot wouldnt work right.
I liked him, too. I only wish his duel with Obi-Wan had been a bit longer, and I wish it had been a little harder to find him. Of course, they had a lot of plot to take care of in an hour and a half, so there was basically no other way.
Yeah, you'd think the Emperor had come back to life or something.

Trying to say he couldn't have been more?
I would have appreciated it if his armour wasn't so flawed and he wasn't so easy to dispatch, Obi-Wan cut off his arms like a 4 year old would pick the legs off a daddy long-legs.
Perhaps a saber throw that boomeranged around the back of Grievous and went through his ribcage would have been nice...but still.
Also, what did people think of how easily Dooku was dispatched of? He was powerful enough to take down Obi-Wan in a few mere seconds but Anakin had him on his knees rather easily...

I agree that Dooku was taken down too easily, and that Greivous was too. I even think Mace was taken down too easily. But I can see why they had to do it. There was so much that had to happen in 2 and a half hours. I really wish it had been two movies.

He didn't need to be more, he wasn't meant to be more. Dooku was taken out easy, but for a reason. Anakin is twice as powerful as he used to be, and then he tapped into the dark side and slayed Dooku. Anakin unleashing his anger makes him more powerful than any jedi (cept Obi-Wan).
Grievous was taken out easy because he'd already been weakend by Mace in the clone wars when Mace crushed his lungs. His armor wasn't weak, Obi-Wan was strong. Plus Grievous was cocky. Such arrogance leaves one open to mistakes.

i liked him a lot, maybe a little disappointed by the coughing thing, but it had a reasonable reason. Hes a cool badass character, but if he survived he wouldnt have any future. He served his purpose, and I liked the Obi vs. Grievous battle.

He was okay, I think he could have had more time placed in the plot. The whole coughing thing kinda threw my entire perspective of him very whack. A Cyborg Jedi who could possibly be the most cold hearted baddie in the galaxy has one very stupid weakness, coughing. But I guess thats not as bad as it could be...

Was it just me or was that his heart in his chest armor when Obi tore him open?
Everyone got a kick out of how he was twirling around all his lightsabers when we first see him duel Obi.

Well the only thing really organic about him is his face (Brain) and parts of his chest. Many people say that his outfit was the prototype until Darth came along.

i thought grievous was a worthy successor to jango and maul in the cool bad guy who dies role. the only problem i had was the way he died. the fight was cool up to the point where obi-wan just shoots him in the chest. kinda wanted something like how maul was sliced in half or jango was beheaded.
oh yeah does anyone know what books has more about who grievous is, like the origin of his organic parts.
do or do not there is no try - yoda

The General Grievous chase seen was pretty cool! But I must say that Sidious stole the show!

Faster, more intense.
That's what this movie was compared to every other Star Wars movie before it. Naturally it seems like everyone dies too easily because so much is happening in this movie.

I really liked those battles, even thou they were abit short. And how did Greivous get his lungs smashed? It did make him look kind of weak.

The end of the Clone Wars series is the start of Revenge of the Sith. In the last chapter, Grievous takes a direct hit from Mace while fleeing. When you see Grevious for the first time in Revenge, he has just come back after fleeing and he is still injured, he remains injured throughout the movie until he dies.

spoiler:Mace and Yoda realized that the Attack on coruscant was a distraction to the real purpose, which was to initiate the "capturing" of Chancellor Palpatine.
As Grevious made his way aboard the shuttle that had Palpatine, Mace caught up and with the flick of a wrist, crushed Grevious' lungs, thus crippling the cyborg.
