I think the game would better be developed by Obsidian, they should use the Aurora-Engine or something like that. Hope it will be playable on my PC...

sry if there are much mistakes, I'm from Switzerland...

ok i found this rumor on gamespot about kotor 3 on one of the unions.... i think someone that worked for one of the companies got this booklet that mentioned game coming out in 2006, hopefully its true, but its possible that its not... here is what he said:

Hello,

KOTOR III Article ALERT!!!!!

I went to my news agent today and I brought a Xbox360 magazine. To my shock and excitement, I found something on Kotor III. Inside with the Xbox Magazine was a "confidential Internal use only booklet" stating that there were 23 Xbox games yet to be revealed-and guess what! Kotor III was one of them! So far! in side the booklet it says!

In front of the booklet it says:

FROM MICROSOFT EMPLOTEES ONLY.

Quote:
Welcome to the top secert document microsoft didn't want you tooo see-declassified. Packed with secert games MS and its army of publishers haven't yet conformed, this 36 page file reveals-in some cases, for the first time-huge 360 titles still under the radar: the rules don't apply around here-so get inside and feast your eyes on the next years biggest anoncements.

Here are some games that are shown inside the booklet:

1.Avalon
2.BC
3.Bioware Game
4.Brute Force 2
5.The Chronicles Of Riddick 2
6.Fable 2
7.GTA 6
8.Half-life 3
9.Forza Motorsport 2
10.Halo 3
11.Hitman 5
12.Man With No Name Games
13.Jade Empire 2
14.Ninja Gaiden 2
12.Outrun Coast 2 Coast
13.Pro-Evolution Soccer 6
14.Rallisport Challange 3
15.The Sims
16.Splinter Cell 5
17.Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic III
18.Turok Next
19.Unreal Tournment 2007
20.WWE Westlemania 360

Star wars knights of the old republic III
from Obsidian

Out Late 2006.

What we know: "are you planning to purchase an Xbox 360?" asks the currant poll on LucasArts offical site. As well it might-because a third round of Jedi justice is already coding up nicely, we hear. Osidian cut chunks of KOTOR II's story that "[didn't make sense when put in the context of the final game"- they'll likely be reinstalled for a juicy tying together of the trilogy's plotlines

Sorry to break it to you but that's not a secret Microsoft booklet. That's an article in a game magazine that was put together to look that way. Look at the scans again.

Man people are really grasping.

Although it's obviously somekind of marketing trick, it's scary to see how much of these games are realy being made. (Especialy after the E3)

Fable 2 is a fact
GTA 6 is a fact (Peter Moore's Tatoo)
Half Life 3 is plausible 9there will be 3 episodes...but after that?)
Halo 3 is a fact
Pro Evo 6 is a fact
And UT 2007 (drools) too.

To keep the fire going: (instead of sarcasm)
There is still a chance!

If so, it will be for PC too..

Did you know you can look up X-Box Live profiles online? If you'd make Kotor 3 on both the 360 and PC, and make them interact, Microsoft has an exclusive RPG to boost Windows Vista (Direct X 10....*drool* ) and the X-Box 360.

But since it isn't being made...

most of the games are a fact and I have already seen information on fable 2 and such I think Kotor will be announced later this year. I don't know what month issue this magazine is but I imagine it is older. Now These titles like halo 3 and fable 2 and GTA 6 are facts just wait for Kotor 3. It is nearing. I am reenergized. Time is the only thing.

Since we started speculating, time has been the only 'thing.'

It's not a matter of 'if' Lucasarts created it, but 'when.'
They now seem to focus on their Vader and SW2007 games. Maybe the Kotor series will be resurected in a few years. Maybe they want to wait for Neverwinter Nights and mass Effect to come out, and release k3 afterwards...

Today it's all about the money. And I have no doubt that KotOR made A LOT of it. So I'll agree with Ztalker on this.

Time will tell. Sooner or later.

Hmmm, I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed how the speculation on KotOR3 has been treated on the relevant boards.

On Obsidian's board, all talk of the game was forced into one topic - all others were deleted. It was first on the Obsidian General forum, but later went to the Computer Games forum and finally the Star Wars Universe forum. Obsidian has also said that they are not working on KotOR3.

On the other hand, on Lucasforums KotOR3 has not just a single topic but an entire board devoted to it.

Is there some hidden information here? I feel that Obsidian would not have put the topic on it's General Board, unless it was considered an internal matter, i.e., they were working on the project. But then they moved it and limited the discussion, whereas an entire board is devoted to here. Why? Is it because the game went into production, yet was no longer relevant to consider for Obsidian, because they are not the developers? Maybe Lucasarts want to develop it in-house this time?

Sounds like they got tired of people posting about it everywhere and just put it under one forum. Makes sense.

But that's just it - it was already in one place (one topic). All other topics on the subject were closed, and moving it around didn't help any and still doesn't, as far as I know.

That is what happened here. We just decided to create a new forum in order to keep all the other ones clean. They chose a different way to do it, but no doubt their aim was the same.

that employee booklet was from a Xbox 360 gaming Magazine; with it, came a seperate booklet with the list of games the magazine claimed that were in development.

those links to the magazine scans are the proof of what the magazine was sating about Kotor III.

Wikipedia? Are you serious?

Here's a quote from that page letting you know it's garbage.

Quote:
This is a list of games that have been confirmed to be in development for the Sony PlayStation 3 video game console, organized alphabetically by name. As of July 2006 the PS3 itself has not yet been released, this list is therefore subject to change. Please see list of computer and video games for related lists.
Confirmed? I don't think so. With Wikipedia all you need is one source to confirm your lie and if that source is another internet lie or rumor then you've got nothing.

Also how can the list be subject to change if they've been confirmed to be in development? I mean we've got confirmation, here!!!

In all seriousness, don't trust everthing you read on Wikipedia.

Hilarious! The anon editor at the very least should have checked spelling before posting such a snub. Repbulican. What a dweeb!

Anyway it got fixed after a bit. Just another example of the perils inherent in wiki content.

My first (and so far only) contribution to the wiki community.

I'm glad that the change has stuck this long. Hopefully KotOR 3 will stay off the list until such time that LucasArts makes an official announcement that KotOR 3 will be made for the PS3. Of course such an announcement may never happen.

Ok well this isn't actual KOTOR 3 news more like something I found interesting while watching EP on G4 yesterday. During the show they did an interview with Bioware and Pandemic about their recent team up and during the interview the group said something interesting. They said they were in the process of making a few games together (Other the Mass Effect) but wouldn't comment on them because they weren't announced yet. This got me wondering could one of these games possibly be KOTOR 3? What got me wondering was with Obsidian tied up for another year with the games they're working on maybe just maybe Lucasarts went back to Bioware to get the game out sometime next year. Now I have nothing to support this so don't get your hopes up it just seems like a possibility to me. A possibility I wouldn't mind seeing either if it meant Pandemic and Bioware teaming up to make KOTOR 3.

I highly doubt Bioware will have anything to do with KotOR 3. They want to concentrate solely on their own IPs (intellectual Properties).

I heard that Mass Effect is going to be part of a trilogy, so that's probably what they're talking about. Although a SW action-RPG would be cool.

I don't know about that. Jade Empire was very well accepted, as was Neverwinter Nights. And I suspect Mass Effect will be top of the line as well.

They are by no means lacking for great universes.

Genre: Action? WTF

Anyhow that page is more than likely an assumption. Many gaming websites like this make pages on games before their announcement. I remember tracking Halo 3 on gamespot before Microsoft even announced it.

They have a new pic on their home page. If nothing is brewing, why place a new pic to an old game on your home page?

Maybe I am just reading into things. Who knows for sure?

EVERYONE NEEDS TO READ THIS INTERVIEW
It is the closest thing to a mention that we have.
Interview with LucasArts VP

[I]GS: How do you guys keep your mouth shut about all these things you're so excited about?

PH: That's a great question. I mean, we deal with some incredibly sensitive IP. I saw Star Wars: Episode III a year before it came out. So it's part of the culture here. Our IP is one of our most valuable assets, and if you spill the beans about a movie or game it really robs it of its potency. Everyone loves the instant rush of a spoiler on the Internet. Then, after you read it, it's like, "Oh, I wish I hadn't seen that, I wish I had seen how that played out in a theatre or in a game."

So, I think it's traditionally, it's very important to maintain to maintain an integrity about what we're working on because, like I said, there's stuff in the pipe that that I can't wait to talk about. But it's not the right time for a variety of reasons. You know, there's stuff going on with Star Wars that is really cool and exciting but, you know again, there's a time and place to talk about it.

Culturally, at LucasArts, I mean, we share a lot of information with Lucasfilm. Our new people are always surprised how much detail we go into at our company meetings, but it sort of says, "Hey, we trust you as a Lucasfilm employee. You're going to be exposed to a lot of really rockin' stuff and you got to keep it under your hat because that's part of the job." And I think everyone here then signs up for it.
