Wow, that one with Shaak Ti is interesting. I didn't know she was killed by Grevious. Good find Prime!

That's not canon.

If you notice, Shaak Ti is well and alive and well on the Council later in the movie just before the first cannons fire on Kashyyyk.

Officially, she was killed by Vader in the Jedi Temple raid.

Ah, yes, now I remember (from the book). It's still interesting that they explored the concept, though.

Nice find Prime!

I hope they will include those scenes on the DVD.

About this scene in Star Wars magazine september/october 2005; Jump to Hyperspace by Pablo Hidalgo:

The cruel fate of Shaak Ti

Quote:
Originally, she (Shaak Ti, ed.) would have been referenced in a line of dialogue during the opening space battle, a rarity when you think about it. No screen Jedi outside of Qui-Gon, Yoda, Mace, Obi-Wan and Anakin has been identified by name in the prequels.

Anakin: The last message we had from Master Shaak Ti, she was still with the Chancellor.
Obi-Wan: She's the most cunning of the Jedi. She's even shown me a few tricks. They won't catch her.
Anakin: Artoo, trace Shaak Ti's homing signal!

Quote:
Grievous (towering behind Shaak Ti sitting broken on the floor, ed.): "Shaak Ti, your lightsaber seems a little battle-worn. It will need considerable cleaning, but it will do the job." There's a sharp intake of breath from Shaak Ti as she arches her back. Grievous has stabbed her through the heart. Her body slumps and Anakin and Obi-Wan turn grim.

"It was something I thought was great," said Concept Artist Ian Mccaig at the time. He , along with Derek Thompson, helped to develop the sequence in pre-production through storyboards. "It's a way of introducing Grievous the way Vader was introdused to us, when he strangles that Rebel officer. You know he's the bad guy."

But the opening sequence aboard the cruiser was running too long. It was taking too much time to get into the meat of the story -the story of Anakin's fall- so Lucas excised much of the serial-type hi-jinks. Shaak Ti was a victim of those cuts, and all reference of her at the start of the film were removed.

What a brilliant introduction that would have been. It really would have lived up to the hype around him, he had the potential to be my favourite SW baddie inst...*cough*, *COUGH!*, *COUGH!*, *PHLEGM!*...

Prime - I have a thread about this not too far down the page ! Spammer !

Kain and Chase are right ! She wasnt on Grievous ship - this deleted scene is an afterthought (ie. bringing that 'alternate' storybaord to life)

The death of Shak Ti was originally *FILMED* w Vader at the jedi temple... having her appear on Grievous ship definitely puts it out of line with what happens in the ROTS Novel (including the pre ROTS novel Labyrinthe of Evil).... and even if in the CW series...

Lucas has had this new scene(which was only originally ever a storyboard) made up digitally, using that original footage...

...sneaky bugger !

Im looking forward to the Rebel Senators stuff.... it will partly set the scene for the TV series

it seems like the 'yoda speaks to qui gon stuff' never got shot ??

and the 'crazy yoda' scene ..... ???

It was never filmed to begin with? The super-lame allusion to it in the movie reeked of "cut". I'm in disbelief that they never even filmed it, and just went with the alternative.

Those clones on AT-RT's find him in the swamp and he's all covered in mud, and he acts crazy (think ESB) like he's eating the dead Wookiees, and that's enough to convince the clones that he's not Yoda. So they leave.

Odd, I could've sworn that the post about the deleted scene said he was on Dagobah and that confused me. Dang short term memory.

Apparently there's an easter egg of a dancing Yoda on the DVD disc 1, according to digital bits. Some kind of musical number... no joke!

Oh, really? I don't know whether to feel happy or disgusted. I'll compromise with exasperation. Compensation for the “crazy yoda” scene, I guess. Whoopee.

For some reason, the English market has a really high demand for DVDs (either that or they're really desperate for money), so usually English companies release them before the American company does. For example, pretty much right after the season was over, the Family Guy 1st season DVD was released there right away, when they weren't released here until about '01 or '02 (though ours also came with season 2).

November 1st, and according to reports, there's no battle. It's a simple execution. Sorry!

There's a scene in ROTS where some troopers on those mini-ATST walkers go by a crashed ship and say "these wookiees are dead, move on."

Now I wasn't sure, were those troopers supposed to have been going around killing Wookiees? Or were the Wookiees that were helping Yoda escape playing dead? Or was the scene supposed to be unrelated?

Then if this "cut scene" with crazy Yoda was supposed to be in there at one time, it might have made the thing make more sense...

Those are called AT-RT's (just FYI ) and here, I'll quote the script, just to clear up what the scene was:

Quote:
CLONES in modified one-man AT-ST's and Swamp Speeders flash their searchlights across the gloomy lake. The light of one of the AT-ST's spots something floating in the water. It is what's left of a Wookiee catamaran. The body of a dead Wookiee (TARFFUL) is lying across the stern of the wreckage of the flying boat. There is some movement on the boat. The CLONE SERGEANT on the AT-ST fires a warning shot past the boat.
AT-ST CLONE SERGEANT Everyone out of there!

A CRAZY LITTLE CREATURE about two feet high pops its head over the rail. The creature is covered with mud. His long hair is frizzed out in all directions.

CREATURE: Wookiee good . . . eat Wookiee.
(crazy little laugh)
CLONE SERGEANT: Did you find something?
CREATURE: It's nothing, nothing.
(laughs)
CLONE SERGEANT: It's nothing, nothing. All these Wookiees are dead. Move to the east.
CLONE TROOPER: Yes, sir.
Suddenly, CHEWBACCA climbs up behind the AT-ST CLONE, dripping wet, and throws the CLONE SERGEANT into the water. CHEWIE BARKS.
CREATURE: Right you are, Chewbacca. Faster that will be.
TARFFUL jumps up in the boat, and the CREATURE takes off his hair. It is Yoda.
YODA: Stink, this mud does. A moment to bathe, give me.
YODA, covered with mud, jumps into the water. TARFFUL climbs onto the AT-ST with CHEWBACCA. YODA is out of the water and putting his robes back on.
YODA: (continuing)
Not far, are we, from the emergency ship. Quickly . . .
YODA whistles and a large ALIEN FLYING INSECT called CAN-CELL appears. YODA jumps on the insect's back and they take off. The WOOKIEES follow on the AT-ST. The CLONES continue to search the swamp.

It isn't Yodas "other side", in ESB he was testing Lukes patience.
I suppose it does show that Yoda isn't just the super-serious Jedi Master though, like Mace and, "this parties over".

OT Yoda was crap, in all honesty. He doesn't LOOK like a great warrior, that's the point. Acting like a member of Jackass on a particulary crazy drugs episode does not a good point make. Acting frail and wee...and green would make the same point only not as laughable!

Also, in those pics, is the one of obi and ani in water during the final battle or something else?

And I think that the crazy yoda scene would be weird, but i agree with ghost_01 - it helps with the continuity and it shows that the clones/stormies are as stupid in the PT as in the OT ;-)

Apparently they're in some "engine coolant" or "engine fuel." It's another deleted scene from the draft scripts. In the deleted scene as we're shown on the DVD, apparently they fall into the liquid right after they cut their way through the floor to "escape" Grevious and the droids.
