The elf looked at her and shook his head. "I know, but that will be many years from now, Emara. Now is now, and so it should be" he said and smiled. "Now, we should continue the journey" he said and turned to see the cave. "We should get going, Tanos! Ever!" he called out and turned the horse sideways onto the road. Now he waited

"You're talking about Proudfoots and Bracegirdles and others like them," Ever said scornfully. "I'm a Took. We like adventure. And I already told you that Tanos interests me. So I'm following him around... y'know, just to see where his life takes him."

He heard Ilenal's call and shrugged. "But we can continue this discussion later, if you'd be interested."

----------------------

Tanos rode up on his horse. "Let's go then."

Ever came over and Tanos pulled him up behind him.

Caer got on his horse and rode up with them, silent again.

The rest of the archers rode out from the cave and came up to the rest of the group. They waited for Caer and then started to follow the high pass again. It would take days to reach Lorien, and after the trolls and orcs here and there, the trip would indeed turn into a boring one, but which ones weren't at one point.

((I suggest a time skip... or something >.>))

((Allrighty...))

The trip was peaceful alongside the Anduin and they reached Lorien quicker than Ilenal had thought. All lof the elves in the group were more silent than usually, even Ilenal.

Ilenal looked around quietly, as did most of the elves, but the sparse forest of Lorien was silent around them. Ilenal looked at Ever, Tanos and Emara quietly. The group travelled on a small path going deep into the forest and by now the elves of Lorien should've come and greet them. This delay made especially the elves anctious, not knowing is the blacklanders had erased the elves from Lorien while the men were on their march to surround Rohan

((Not posting fast enough for you, Tepe ))

Tanos and Ever sat in silence. Emara started to sing softly in Quenya. Tanos glanced over at her and then looked into the woods. At Emara's singing, Elves began to come out of the woods. They recognized the voice, the song. It was one Emara had written, a tribute to Lorien and those that lived there.

When she had finished the song, she spoke in the same language. Then, she turned and spoke in Common so Tanos and Ever could understand. "We have come for rest. A long journey is behind us and another before us."

((You never are...))

Ilenal let Emara speak, then turned to who looked like the leader of the group and spoke in sindarin. "Tell Lady Galadriel, the mistress of the woods, that I have news from Cirdan the ship-maker and lord of the Grey Havens" he said and the elf nodded in agreement.
The elves of Lorien whispered to each others and a few of them departed quickly towards their city to tell Lady Galadriel, even if she already knowed about the group, she was the last of the elves that has seen the lights of Valinor in Middle-Earth.
The group was led off the road and into a thicker and older part of the woods, where you could almost hear the trees whispering. This was a path rarely used by travellers, because it resembled much of the younger parts of Fangorn or the Old Forest on the border of Buckland. Ilenal gave a look at Ever and slowed his horse's speed enought to trot next to Tanos and the hobbit. "Ever, tell me of the Old Forest near Buckland" he said and looked at him from under the shadows of his hood

"Oh, now that's a good place for excitement," Ever said. "Some people say it's haunted... because the trees move. But I know better. It's actually quite a nice place if the trees know you mean them no harm."

"I have heard of a man living there when I've happened to overhear conversations in Bree. Tom... something" he continued, now turning to look up ahead. An elf of Lorien walked next to Tanos and was quite amused of th lookds of the Hobbit behind the human. It was a very rarechance for people to see Hobbits anywhere beyond the borders of Shire

"Bombadil," Ever agreed. "Yes, I've seen him once, but he either ignored me or just didn't feel the need to stop and talk to me."

He stared down at the Lorien Elf, smiled and waved.

The Lorien Elf looked dumbfounded at the hobbit waving and stayed behind to stare for a moment before collecting himself again and rushing ahead of the group.

The city of the elves started to slowly come in view and then was fully revealed by the will of Galadriel. Ilenal unmounted, and so did all the other elves, sent by Elrond, and held the reins of the horses loosely. The horses were left with the stablemaster and the Lorien elves. Ilenal signalled fore the rest to do the same

Tanos helped Ever slide off before he and Emara dismounted. Then, the three of them went to stand near Ilenal.

"I believe we will be greeted by Lady Galadriel, otherwise thee wouldn't be such a welcome. Stay near, but stay silent. Do what I do and speak only when spoken to" he said and drew his hood back. The group was welcomed by four guards that led them into a large palace's steps. The doors opened with an almost blidning light pouring from inside. To figures could be seen but not clearly until they walked slowly down the steps and the doors closed. Ilenal ad the elves of Rivendell kneeled down and bowed their heads as the pair of elves stopped and looked at the group with warm and welcoming smiles. Lady Galadriel stood there, her hand slipped under Celeborn's arm

Caer stood silently, he was hoping that if Galadriel could see his past, she wouldn't make mention of it to the others.

Galadriel lay her eyes first on the elves, then on the siblings, then on the two figures standing. Her eyes narrowed slightly, as she trted to speak to them, but a voice echoed in Ever's mind.
"Welcome, master halfling. Your faith will reveal itself soon, my short friend. Wait for a black day"
Ilenal rose up finally after Galadriel had welcomed the group into Lorien. The elf approached the Lady of the wood and bowed respectfully. "Lady Galadriel, Lord Celeborn. I have news from Cirdan the ship-maker" he said in quenya and got a bow of the head from Galadriel.
"We shall speak of Cirdan later. Get some rest and come see me in the morning" Gladriel responded in quenya, then they walked back into the palace.
Ilenal turned around at Ever and he shook his head. "She spoke to you, didn't she?" he muttered and left for the steps that led down to ground level

The Archers of Rivendell walked to the steps also and followed Ilenal down to the ground. He smiled as he walked to his awaiting horse and took everything off it's back and patted it's neck quickly. He looked around and placed the cloth and the saddlebags onto his left shoulder, then walked to the steps, waiting for Tanos and Emara to come down, as they would be sharing a house a few minutes of walk away and he knew the place, even if he wasn't sure how much the two knew of Lorien and how many times had they been there before

It took Tanos and Emara only a few minutes to come down the stairs with Ever trailing slightly behind after Ilenal and the archers had reached the ground.

Ilenal quickly approached anos and looked at Ever. "Tanos... Talk with Ever. Lady Galadriel spoke to her, and to a hobbit that has rarely seen magic in his youth, it might be very hard to take" he said and nodded with a smile, then turned to Emara. "Emara... Do you kno the way to the house?" he asked with a partly raised eye

Tanos turned back to Ever.

"She spoke to you," he said quietly. Ever nodded.

"But I have nothing to say about it," he said. "So it's pointless to speak to me."

Tanos tried to object, but he saw the look on Ever's face and decided to leave it at that.

-----------------

Emara was distracted by what Ilenal had said about Galadriel speaking to Ever and completely missed Ilenal's question. She turned to look at Ever and then turned back to Ilenal.

"Do you think he'll be alright?" she asked quietly.

Ilenal looked back at Ever and then at Emara. "I do not know. It depends on what she said to Ever. If Lady Galadriel spoke in riddles, Ever will be bugged by it for days, weeks, months... Who knows for how long" he said and sighed. "All we now can do is try to ease him from other stresses" he continued, the whole time speaking in quenya.

Emara nodded wordlessly and responded in Quenya, "Galadriel is fond of riddles. It is almost visible on Ever's face that it was a riddle she gave him."

Ilenal nodded. "It will only take a couple of sleepless nights to get over the first shock" he noted and looked at her with a comfortning smile. "Do not worry about him"

-- That evening --

It was late, the sun had set down what seemed ages ago in the forest that now was filled with smooth, elven singing. Ilenal sat quietly outside their appointed house, smoking his pipe and thinking quietly. He could not sleep for some reason, but it might've been just a good thing if Ever would wake up

((Are you thinking of Emara or Ever? Can't tell, so they're both awake ))

Emara had not been able to sleep and was singing softly to herself.

-------------------

Ever had managed to fall asleep, but the words of Galadriel haunted him, refusing to leave his head. And so he awoke. Being unable to sleep, he sat at the edge of the bed and listened to the singing of the Elves.

((I was thinking of Ever, but meh...))

Ilenal watched quietly as lights dimmed in many parts of the hidden elven city. He shook his head and blew out moke from his mouth. He started mumbling to himself quietly in quenya and then blew out some more smoke. He joined the singing quietly, even if his voice was barely recognizable from the elven chorus. The song was telling tales of the ocean and lands beyond, where everything bloomed and the Valar watched

the delusion that we have some privileged position in the universe,
are challenged by this point of pale light.
Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark.
In our obscurity in all this vastness there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves.

((Ever is awake... he's listening to the singing... I'll have him come out and see you somewhere...))

Ever pushed himself off the bed and crept over to the door. Slowly, silently, he opened it and slipped out. Now, he could hear the singing a little better. He sat down and tried to focus only on the song, trying to push Galadriel's words out of focus in his head.

Ilenal looked at Ever and smiled. "Now don't go falling down. I would say there's atleast seventy feet down" he said and chuckled quietly, taking his back-up pipe(which is a must-have) from a bag on his belt and filling it with leaf. he handed it over towards the hobbit. "Here. The finest leaf in the whole Shire, at least for what I heard from the Brandybucks" he said and nodded for him to take the pipe. He continued to sing quietly after a short period of silence between the two. He looked at Ever and wondered why the hobbit hadn't yet been asking what the song was about... Hobbits were always curious people

For a long while, Ever kept silent. Then, he took the offered pipe and began to smoke. Finally, he spoke.

"You can know everything there is to know about hobbits," he said quietly. "And they'll still surprise you." He glanced over at Ilenal. "That's what you're thinking, isn't it?"

"A wizard said that once. His name is Mithrandir, or as you in the west will call him, Gandalf. I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve. ((Oh, shush. You had it coming))

Ilenal shook his head and finally smiled. "You are very queer people, I would say, but you say about us the same way, so I guess we are even, then" he said, staring into the deepening shadows of the forest. The power of Galadriel's ring masked the city slowly from outsiders and Ilenal started to relax slowly

"Gandalf is the first person I ever heard say that," Ever agreed. "And the look on his face when he said it was the same look you just had."

He stared down thoughtfully. "Even... we're even... yes."

Despite having an opportunity to sleep in a bed, Caer had chosen to remain awake, sitting on chair, smoking his own pipe.

Vader's wife was very pregnant when she died 19 years ago. All of a sudden a 19 year old who is very strong in the force and has a distinct resembalance to him in his younger days rolls in from Vader's home planet with his old Master Obi-Wan (Who was the ONLY other person preset at the time his wife died. And to boot, the kid's last name is Skywalker.

So in answer to your question, he knew Luke was his son because his name is Darth Vader, and not Darth Retard.

"Lady Galadriel's words are bothering you, aren't they" he noted and then looked at the hobbit. "Lady Galadriel's words are wise, but hollow. She gives you fear, but no actual news. The feeling you have now is because of her mental skills, for she penetrated into your mind without asking" he explained and shook his head, blowing out a smoke ring or two

Ever glanced at Ilenal. "For finding Hobbits difficult to predict, you seem to be able to figure out what I'm thinking about easily."
