Gang Wars

[Writer]

"I can well believe it," Meg laughed. "But I'm thinking of outside ears... in fact, this conversation has gone on too long. Find another phone. Call another number." She gave him another phone number and hung up. She pushed the pay phone she'd used into the wall and it dropped out of sight. Meg closed up that section of the wall and waited.

[jokemaster]

Donnie dialed the next number.

"I'm getting tired of this cloak and dagger bull****. Now give it to me straight, you want to meet. Where?"

[Writer]

"Now," Meg said. "I want to meet now." She gave him directions. "Don't look for me. I'll find you."

With that, she cut the connection, shoved the remaining four pay phones through the wall and prepared to leave.

Donnie returned to the hangout, picked up two handguns for protection, then rode the motorcycle to the meeting place.

[Writer]

Meg was already there waiting for him. "Nice bike." They were the only people in sight.

[jokemaster]

"Not mine." He replied. "You wanted to talk, so talk."

[Writer]

Meg tossed a leather object in Donnie's direction. "Open it."

In the growing darkness, it was barely possible to make out that this was an FBI ID.

"You're gonna want to reach for your guns, now, aren't you, Donnie?" she said quietly. "You still want me to talk?"

Donnie checked the ID. It seemed valid.

"Keep talking. Then I'll see."

[Writer]

"You don't need to worry about getting jailed," Meg told him. "We like what you're doing... that stunt at with the Destroyers' limos was fun to see. Near sent John into a fit." This seemed to amuse her a great deal.

[jokemaster]

"Well, gee, I did it just to piss off John." Said Donnie sarcastically. "So what did they send you to do, then?"

[Writer]

"Send me?" Meg laughed. "No, no, I was there because I wanted to be. I'm not one of the White Strikers. They call, they hire me. I do the jobs because a little extra money always helps... and it pushes the Destroyers further down."

[jokemaster]

"And why do you want to see the destroyers go down?"

[Writer]

"We like the people scared, not dead," Meg answered. "Strikers scare the people. The people run to us. We make a lot of noise about reprimanding the Strikers. The Strikers back off. The people love us." She snorted. "The Destroyers just kill."

[jokemaster]

"What's all this got to do with me?"

[Writer]

"You're working on getting the Slickers back where they were," Meg told him. "So I'll tell you when John comes up with a plan to down the Destroyers. You make the attack, make the Strikers look like fools, and put the Slickers back where they belong... perfect revenge for you and good-bye Destroyers for me!"

[jokemaster]

"And the FBI turns a blind eye towards all this?"

[Writer]

"Because it benefits us," Meg agreed.

[jokemaster]

Donnie considered it.

"And what is it to me if I don't just wipe out the Strikers as well?"

[Curt-Man]

John returned to base and made an announcement to everyone.
"Our little plan failed, somehow the Green Slickers are back and they took credit for the explosions, so we have to come up with a new plan, although the higher-ups and I are concocting a plan, suggests are always welcome, that is all." And John went to his office.

[Writer]

"A stronger revenge?" Meg asked. "What good would it do you? You used to be allies until they seemed to ignore what was happening to you. But do you know the facts, Donnie?"

She paused thoughtfully. "And you needn't worry about the Strikers coming after you once the Slickers are back in place. You have us behind you. They won't be able to touch you... they'll be forced to work with you if they want to survive."

[jokemaster]

"How do I know you won't burn me on this?"

[Writer]

"Think about the reputation the Green Slickers had before you were knocked down," Meg told him. "You were the 'fair' guys. People in your territory respected you... there was no fear involved except in those who didn't know you... and they would've come around. True, you still initiate illegal activities, but you do it in an acceptable way."

She shrugged. "How do you know we won't burn you? Well, you don't, but we won't. It's more beneficial for us if you're on top. We'll help you get there and then we'll leave you alone for the most part."

[jokemaster]

Donnie took one final glance at the badge, memorizing the information, then tossed it back.

"All right. In return, however, I want information on every move the strikers make involving us or the destroyers."

[Writer]

"Done," Meg told him. "Also, if you need any help, don't hesitate to let us know. We have a dozen agents willing to do whatever it takes to help you."

[jokemaster]

Donnie continued, ignoring the offer. "I also want immunity for myself, and certain other people. If they get in trouble, I'll let you know."

[Writer]

"As much as possible, we can give that to you," Meg told him. "Understand that there will be complaints against you from the general public. When that happens, we'll have to pretend to be big and angry... pretend to knock you down, but it's all for show. Remember that."

[jokemaster]

"I will. I also want information on anything the FBI does concerning the Black Destroyers in advance."

[Writer]

"That'll be a little harder to get approval for," Meg said thoughtfully. Then, she nodded. "But it's doable."

[Curt-Man]

John was meeting with the high ranking officers in his Gang.
"I say we take the Slickers down when we can." One member said.
"No we will not, infact we will plead for forgivness." everyone started yelling."QUIET! I cannot believe what the former Striker leader did, what a coward. But we need not discuss that now, we must discuss what to do with the destroyers."
"Take all our forces and take them down."
"Too many casualties." and there was a buzz of talking.
"SILENCE!" John yelled. "We are the strikers, not the destroyers, we go in do our damager and get out, they have all out warfare, come we must formulate a strike team and a plan." And the concocting started.

[jokemaster]

"One last thing: I want a phone number when I can reach you at any time. A permanent one, I don't want to write down a number for every time I have a question."

[Writer]

Meg nodded. "That was expected." She gave him a phone number. "I carry that phone. It's completely secure... can't be traced or bugged. If you have questions or want help, call that number."

[jokemaster]

"I'll keep in touch." Said Donnie, he began heading back out.

[Writer]

Meg returned to her house.

[jokemaster]

Donnie got on the motorcycle and drove straight to his house. If they were tracking him from there he didn't want to compromise the hideout. Immediately he grabbed one of the many disposable cell phones he kept around and dialed a number.

"Palmer here." Said the voice on the other end.

"Mike, I need you to check out someone. Claims she's an FBI agent, her name's Megan Bryant, ID number 458273188912470, got that?" Donnie had an almost-photographic memory.

"Hold on a bit." A few seconds past. "Well, she's in the system, and she is an FBI agent....but everything else is classified up the wazoo. Does this have to do with your plans?"

"A little. Try to find out more will ya?"

"I'll try, but asking around is going to raise a few eyebrows. "

"I'll call you back tomorrow."

"All right."

They hung up. Donnie headed to the living room, and watched the news.

Mike Palmer hung up and frowned at his screen. The profile had only name, and Badge ID number, nothing else. He'd have to dig in deeper.

"PALMER!" yelled a voice behind him. He turned, surprised. "Polazky wants you in his office, now."

"Tell him I'm coming."

Mike Palmer closed the windows on his computer, and walked across the police station to his boss' office.

[Writer]

Once at 'home', Meg went downstairs, found the trigger for the well-hidden door, and slipped through the underground tunnel behind it. The tunnel ended in a room with shower and a sink. Through another door, there was a small room and through yet another door was yet another tunnel. Meg approached the sink and turned the water on. When it was warm enough, she bent over and washed her hair, washing the brown coloring out of it, revealing light blonde hair.

When the washing was done, Meg went into the other room and removed the pair of colored contacts she'd been wearing. Her eyes were now a sort of blue-gray color. She changed out of the dark clothes into a pair of jeans and a gray t-shirt and strapped a different gun to her belt. Once this was complete, she walked over to a mirror and looked into it.

"Hello, Teri Vincent," she murmured. "How've you been?"

With that, she turned from the mirror and moved into the second tunnel. This led her into a small room where six other women were playing poker.

"Hello, ladies," she said. They stood from their game and approached her.

"Good evening, Teri," one of them said. "You're ready for one of us to be Meg?"

"Who gets it now?" Teri asked with a grin. One of the women stepped forward.

"That would be me," she said, imitating perfectly the 'Meg' voice, as they called it. Teri nodded.

"Good," she said. "Get to it. Let me know if John calls and I'll come as soon as I can."

With that, the stand-in Meg retraced Teri's steps up into the house and Teri passed the room where the 'Megs' had been playing their game. She quickly located the door that led her to a staircase, which brought her up inside the basement of the nearest police station. She rode the elevator up one level and stepped out.

On her way out of the police station, she passed Mike Palmer, who was on his way to his boss' office. She paid him no attention as she ran a hand through her short blonde hair and reached into her pocket to double-check the presence of the 'Teri Vincent' ID.

Then, she left the police station, got in a little car, and drove to report of Meg's success with both John and Donnie.

"Palmer!" Growled Captain Craig Logan from behind his desk. "I'm sure you've heard about the limo bomings."

"Yes, sir."

"I want you to look into it. The Slickers haven't shown up anywhere else and everything about it smells. Besides, we've got enough **** going on with the Destroyers, the Strikers and these Russians, we don't need anymore gangs on our hands."


Mike paused. "What if the FBI gets involved?"

Logan looked at Palmer. "**** them. This is our case."

[Writer]

An hour later, Teri returned sporting firey red hair to her shoulders and green eyes. She was dressed in a state police uniform and had a badge identifying her as Lt. Lisa Green. As Green, she approached Capt. Logan with a smile.

"Good evening, Captain," she said pleasantly. "Sorry to bother you, but Captain Dunn wants to know what you've heard about the attack on the Destroyers earlier today."

[jokemaster]

Logan glanced up from the report he was reviewing.

"You can tell Dunn to stick it. This is our case."

[Writer]

'Green' raised an eyebrow. "If I go back empty handed, Dunn's going to come over here himself... you don't want another shouting match with him, do you?"

[jokemaster]

Logan glared

"The bombing happened in my jurisdiction. The Slickers used to operate in MY jurisdiction. So you can tell your boss to shut up and find some other case to pad his resume."
