He just wanted to make a quick movie. He had no idea that it would become so popular. He started out with 4, 5, 6 because in 1977 they didn't have very good graphics. You know... No computers. So he made 4 without computers. He used little models and drawings. And people in outfits... After Star Wars became such a big hit, he decided to continue and make 5, & 6. When he finally got the tech he needed, he created Phantom Menace in 1999. Following that, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith.

I think it was a good idea because it helped bring a new generation of SW fans into the fold and it was just so good to see SW in the cinemas again. It was also worth it to find out how Anakin became DV and all the background information towards that.
