It will be ready when it is ready, not before, not after. Have patience, its not just a small "oh I just have to change this to a 5" type thing to add to mdlops. Chuck has a real life ouside of making mdlops and even though he works hard on it its more then likely not his number one priority in life. So just sit back, let him work and eventually he will release it when he is finished, satisfied it works right and hasnt got any weird bugs.

Hello all,

Quote:

Thanks for the post Jackel!

This post by Jackel made me notice something here at the forum. Am I the only person here that everyone is on a first name basis with? I mean, everyone uses my first name when they post or send me a PM/E-mail. IIRC, I always use someones handle when I post, etc...

Hey, it's cool with me. I just thought it was interesting.

Yeah, I know that my handle IS pretty much my name. It may be boring, but it is always available whenever I sign up for something!

Oh and in reply to Jackels quote above:
I will get a real life when someone proves to me it is better than what I have now!

Now, back to coding I go... <-- The only part of this post that is on topic?

Stupid Question:

Has the Animations been cracked for Knights? Or TSL?

Malak's stance on Revan in Knights 1?

Now that you've cracked the animations, can you take a Knight's 1 Mod and slide it over to Knights 2? Say...Malak's stance on the Exile?

TheOneMan -
Porting game content directly from one game in the series to the other is illegal, so no on the Exile handling his battles with Malak's moves via a port.
Creating a stance from scratch is not illegal, so if you really want Malak's stance in TSL, make one like it and implement it. Bit of work, but no Cease and Desist letter from the developers.

EDIT: and I apologize if it's not my place to say the 'this is illegal' stuff, since we aren't to talk about illegal stuff. *curls up and hopes the moderators won't get mad*

and I hope I'm not too late to thank cchargin and Fred Tetra for both their new and their well-known contributions. the utilities were already awesome, but custom animations and lighting effects blow my feeble, inexperienced modder's mind.

Actually, Malak's model and textures are in TSL. So it could be done. To take it directly from K1 would be illegal, however, you are right, but since it is in TSL already, there's no problem (I think...)

No, that Malak uses the default animations. Malak's animations are used by Nihilus.

Actually, I think they're slightly different

And the Darth Malak model is also (IIRC) still in game, as well as Admiral Karath's, among others

Nope, they're not. Nihilus is built on Malak's skeleton, so he has the same animations. He just has a cape too, and a different standing anim.

Anyway, yeah, Chuck, you're just about the only one who goes by his first name, except maybe Fred.

We should try and stay on topic guys.

Edit: Too late.

Are you sure? Then how did Colja's (IIRC) disguise mod work, where you could be Darth Malak?

Wait, wait, wait

Nihilus uses Malak's Combat Animations?

o.O

Then why does he look so different? (Mind you, haven't fought Nihilus in a LONG time.) It seems to me Nihilus uses default combat animation (Like Revan or Exile).

Please do feel free to prove me wrong o.o"

Also, if you tell me to check such and such files, heh...no...<<" I'm not a modder and never plan to be.

It's not my cup of tea O.o

Then use KSE, change your appearance to Unique_Darth_Nihilus (or is it N_Darth_Nihilus? Anyway, it's something like that...), open K2, load the savegame you edited, equip a single sabre and flourish

I consider the way he walks to be a combat animation. I mean, good grief! Looks a lot like Grievous right before Obi-Wan shoots him in RotS. I'm sure if you could see his eyes, they would glint with evil intent.

Aren't we starting to stray from the main focus of this thread here guys?

Working so, we will learn history as a tree knows it; we will climb into shapes printed in the seed; we will become time made visible, years made fragrant; we will make of concentric memory a stem of praise; we will inhabit daylight at a trees own speed; we will be travelers who remain, patriots to this ground.

I was just wondering if this means anythign for editing head models, I would like to be able to give the male model long hair. Just a change up from the Backstreet Boys rejects that they give you by default .

I don't need you no more in this world. I'll meet you in the next one, and don't be late.

OFF TOPIC: I noticed GSCCC that you haven't accepted me yet into your Rise of the Sith Mod ~_~ ANd yes, I have posted on your forum :P

On Topic: With cracked Animations, does that mean we can also edit the Animations for Exile? Say, give him Nihilus/Malak's Animations but still be able to have the plot flow?

Nihilus does have some different animations from Malak though, and I know that his stance when his saber is drawn is different as well. A lot of the block/attack animations remained the same though.

Nihilus has his saber in both hands directly in front of him, at waist level, with his legs close together. Malak holds his saber at his side with his legs shoulder-width apart.

I know of one blocking animation that only Malak uses, it's the one where he positions the hilt in front of the opposite shoulder of the hand that's holding it, and the blade is ignited in front of the arm holding it. Sorry if that's a bad description.

Not the precise robes, since that would be porting, but I suppose it is feasible that we could make flowing robes, yeah.

I believe that would entail using a skin mesh, which isn't possible yet.

Fred Tetra always gets called Fred (though technically it's not his RL name afaik).

Props to TSLRP's own in-house hacker, jdnoa. TSLRP (and me in particular; Mira/Hanharr will benefit greatly from this) awaits this one with anticipation.

Now THIS is sweet! I love that block move Malak / Nihilus does where he spinds 180 and executes that block behind his back.

Now, i was wondering even if http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=149712 isnt possible, could we change the flurry to that awesome one Revan does in the "revan's death" cutscene (where he does that sweet set of swings before he brings the blade up near his head and points his saber at the attackers, just before Malak fires on him) or that insane one Windu does when he smashes the window on EP III?

Lol i know a bazillion questions like this have been asked, but excuse my excitement, the only thing that could possibly be more exciting is if we could make completely custom areas

Yes (I think...), but it looks like it was a one-off for the movie. Certainly AFAIK, it's not on the Revan model, so to recreate it would take a lot of screenshots and time...

Been almost a month since the last post on here... is there anything new? new progress of any sort. Very excited to try this.

Please don't "Bump" threads asking for progress reports, I suggest you read the Holowan Labs Rules thread as this type of 'bumping' post is not allowed, Rule #7. Thanks. -RH

Hello all,

Oy! I should have looked at the calendar before posting about the animations!

Trying to work on a side project at the end of the year is a bad idea!

But, now that the holidays are over and the company year-end work is done I can get back to coding.
