I can't wait either for the movie to come out. Though, I'd rather him make the Hobbit first.

I was quite pumped when I saw the 'teaser' (actually better video than the newest trailer in my opinion). The I heard it was three hours and I groaned how that could be done without it dragging on. Then I saw the newly released Kong DVD and realized it was 100 minutes in 1933. I know they can add a helluvalot to it to make it even better than that movie.
A few things baffle me. As this is Jackson's fav movie of all time, why remake it? Would you wanna remake SW (err, the originals at least )? I know I wouldn't! That just sees strange. And Jack Black being in it? It was laughable before I saw the trailers.
All in all, I'm pumped again but not as much as I am for Narnia

Oh don't get me wrong; watch the second trailer and he's brilliant in it. A much different approach to the character than in the original and it seems to be for the better.

Peter Jackson's remake was a fanastic one IMO. It was a great movie. Lots of action. The effects were awesome. Alos, the technology is decent nowadays.

Actually the moral is something along the lines of man is the real monster all kong wanted to do was love and be free but man enslaved him and the killed him.
ok thats not really a moral but you get what i mean.

I thought the moral was that beauty killed the beast?
Ie: the aesthetic destroys the savage within us OR seeking after "beauty" leads to destruction.
Could Kong really have lived in the city in captivity? Could the heroine have lived in the jungle with Kong? How realistic was their relationship anyway? Or were they just two people who were in a bad situation and learned to make the best of it for awhile?
Entertaining flick (I loved the original of course). Still, Mr. Jackson either needs to listen to his editor or else force theater companies to throw in a 5-10 minute intermission for 3+ hour movies, seriously. And also I could have done without all the camera shaking. It was bad enough in LOTR (especially FOTR) and it got much worse in KK. I had to look away several times during the city smashing scenes to prevent myself from getting sick. This is probably less of a problem for those viewing it on the small screen...

I think Jackson shoud stick with movies that go into more detail.. Kong's story was simple compaired to the complexity of LOTR...
P.S does anyone know if Jackson will make The Hobbit?

^ Ha no I just did not like the story line, because the story was kinda vague. Unlike Lord of the Rings where you had to pay attention more to know whats going on. Anyways thats my oppinion.

First of all, no need for flaming. Secondly, this the Cantina, as it say:
"Visitors beware! Almost anything goes in the Cantina, whether it be Star Wars related or not!"
Lastly, Peter Jackson is a fine director. He did a fantastic job on the LotR trilogy and a decent job on King Kong

I agree Obi-Wan.
Darth_Death you can't complain about other peoples threads when you have made some of the stupidest threads I have ever seen.
"disappearing dead jedi"
"how many wookies"
"Remake trilogy"
"how did grevious start?" You can tell by the names that they are dumb, this King Kong thread is much more substantial that any that you have made.

2) Your ignorant opinion.
3) This is The Cantina, anything can be posted here, Star Wars or not. Try thinking before you post next time.

I agree Terros, use proper punctuation Darth_Death and check for mistakes, it makes your post alot easier for other people to read.
Han Sala had every right to post a thread about King Kong and you can't tell him that he can't post it just because you don't like it.
This is The Cantina, you can talk about anything.

Darth_Death please do not trash my threads.
Anways can we go back on topic and ignore Darth_Deaths ignorance please.
I saw the movie again and I liked it this time. I think it was because there was a stupid 3 year old behind me kicking me in the back. Peter Jackson is an awsome director and kicks alot of other directors asses.

I liked the film but I thought it was a bit weird that they had a giant gorilla swinging and jumping from branches and trees like a monkey, when normal gorillas don't do that at all.

Well, don't forget, King Kong isn't a normal gorilla......Anyway, I saw for a second time too and I enjoyed it just as much. I never really noticed any differences, except that spoiler:Lumpy the Sailor and King Kong is Andy Serkis (actor who played Gollum in the LotR trilogy.)

Congratulations, you can kind of form sentences. Now give me three reasons why I shouldn't ban you.
King Kong was pretty good, a hell of a lot better than that ****ty '76 version.

I saw the movie a while ago (over the winter holidays), and I thought it was great. I had a few problems, like the Kong-like trees and rocks, but in I thought it was good. However, after the movie is another story. It was like my legs were flippers when I was trying to get out of the theatre .

There are some retro/boutique theaters around here that have intermissions for long films. I think intermissions are great, as you can have a break, a chat, a snack, respond to teh call of nature and then get back to your seat all comfy.
Sometimes, you may meet a nice girl at intermission and never see the second part of the movie at all(its how I met my gf )

Gotta love those intermissions. Lucky, Astrotoy7. I haven't went to movie theatre that has intermissions for quite a significant time period. Last time I remember an intermission happening was when the "Titanic" was out in theatres. lol. I think Harry Potter IV should've had an intermissioon, so it would be a longer film.
