Smuggler and economy - playing dirty ;)
When i played the tutorial i didn't pay much attention to those smugglers, since i didn't move my cursor (slow with the tomatos ) to see how much money those guys steal....well, it's been only 2-3 days that i've sent one smuggler to an imperial planet and saw the quite interesting amount of 850++ credits per day coming to my account, so, these guys are worth their money
Generally about economy on EaW, what do you think is best to grow up quick? Grab a planet with 6 building slots and fill it up with mining facilities (it will reach over 5000 credits/gd [ gd:galactic day] i guess)? Sending smugglers all over the enemy planets and enjoying some dirty money ? Or a mix of both?
Personally, i'm going to establish mining facilities, not in a single one planet, but in many (not all, slots are valuable) and so have a "secure" income. Obviously, smugglers are not so secured income, since they can be taken out quite easily. On the other hand, since they cost about 300 credits and they can steal the triple money in comparison to their value, so, even if you use him for a single gd, you have a positive income.

Lol, firstly i don't really see the reason why you posted this? You don't seem to be complaining? lol. Anyways, I like the smugglers but then again i don't. I kind of have been doing the exact same thing you've been doing during gameplay.
Reasons:
Pros- A good way to get fast easy money
Cons- takes the fun out of the game, too easy
Although this is just the demo they might have fixed this issuie by now. =)

Keep in mind the planets' base incomes vary, too. It would be more economical to concentrate mining facilities on planets with a high base income, just as in real life mines are located at concentrations of ore. Specialization of planets will probably be the most successful strategy, compared to trying to put one of everything on each planet. Of course, that makes your income-generating planets a target for raids...

Bounty hunters can be hired on any planet that allows building of a Hutt Palace. Not sure about smugglers though.

An even more general view of the subject (haven't think of it). It will be a challenge to build the right facilities on the right planets. For example, in the demo i used to build a central (relatively to the other controlled planets) position with war facilities (medium, heavy factory etc) and provide with the necessary forces the rest planets.
Hyperspace routes will play a significant reason for sure. A planet full of mining facilities but with only a hyperspace line to an allied planets, or (worse) with no hyperspace lines around, is most likely the best prey for the enemy...i don't know if the AI will see this in single player (through probe droids/spies) but on mp it's the best present for the enemy

It means "correlation with (something/someone)" if i am not mistaken.
But those bonuses won't appear in the galactic map as well? Or we'll have to look into the xmls....? (well, this is indeed a "dirty" way to play )

oh yeah, the reduced prices is galaxy wide
i thnk Slice_Affinity means that that type of slice is easy while other slices will be difficult since all planets have a slicing difficulty ratings

Hmm, more new. Just saw that smugglers are not such a good investment unless you have a good enemy planet to steal. The 850+ credits i was getting was due to stealing Coruscant
So, i guess if smugglers will do the work...they cost around 400 credits and in most cases they steal around 100 credits/day. And i guess it's obvious that someone is stealing your planets so.....boom, no smuglers....
[edit @ shadowsfm] Then we see through the xmls the planets with the best slicing (=stealing) rating and we use smugglers only to them? This is some kind of game exploit...
[edit @ wedge] Or you click that icon on the galactic map, i think it's the same. Yet, i always have activated only the credits value, if you have all info set on the map gets a bit like a .doc page

Dictionary.com for affinity: A natural attraction, liking, or feeling of kinship. An inherent similarity between persons or things. So, that means the planet "likes" to build certain things.
You can see the bonuses on the galactic map if you just hover the mouse over one of the planets. The droid will pop up a window of information about the planet, including bonuses.

Bounty Hunters cost x2 what smugglers do so even if you only get 85 credits a day (not sure where I got the number) you will get that everyday like you control the planets revenu or the other side will need to spend 1000 to uproot it.

smugglers take half the daily planets income for 5 days
which can be edited
to bad boanty hunters attach to cruisers and stay in transports so they cant fight. i was hoping we could use them like iniltaters and use them as a counter vs heros. and only boba fett can Neutralize major heros.
