Followed the help sticky and did some Googling, KOTOR I still won't work on W8

The game is fine up until I get to the third encounter with Sith solders in the first level (the room where it shows the sword duel and the Sith blowing up their spear guy). I get to that room, and then at some random point I get the 'this program has stopped working' message and the game has to close down. Can anyone here help?

Which version of the game are you using?

Original CD, Best of PC, Steam or Collection DVD?

Fix their home team score on the board to the debt clock, they can win every game 17,000,000,000,000 to 24. Losing team gets taxed by the IRS 100%, then droned."
