The TABbots wandering in to weird places and having seizures is a bot route issue that is still in the process of being fixed I think. It also depend on the map your using or the server.

As for your suggestion, that's up to razorace. I wouldn't mind it personally, I love that feature of MBII. It might have to be implemented differently though for originality sake and because you have to buy it in MBII.

It really depends on the map but it's normally due to bad bot routing. It shouldn't happen during normal play and should be reported if you see it. I need to have an idea of where it is happening to be able to fix it.

As for saber blocking, exactly how is it done in MB2?

i have no idea how they do it in mbII...i guess u should ask the moviebattles team...

uhm as for bad bot routing, its seems like it happens in downloaded maps like sjc's maps, and others...however, it doesnt usually happen with normal bots..so im stumped

If your asking a coding question here, I have no idea. But as far as basic machanics, the MB team has it to where you can buy a 3 levels of accuracy in deflection. Level 3 is the best and allow you to aim your crosshires at an enemy and anything you deflect (except disrupter fire {which is only blocked}, blobs, and rockets) hit that enemy or anything you aim your crosshires at. The accuracy decreases at lower levels though (level 1 being the least accurate). Deflecting also drains you FP as well a few points per deflect. You lose more if your not in blockstance, running, or jumping. Thats basically how it works in MB2.

Yeah I've noticed that same thing when I play Sith j culls amazing Mustafar Map and a few others of his which all have pretty well done bot routes knowing him.

Btw. Playing Enhanced on sjc's Mustafar map fighting an Obiwan Tabbot Anakin, and with this sabersystem, I must say that it doesnt get much more movie like than this!! If only the Tabbots were smart enough to jump on to the moving lava platforms with me! lol. You should check this map out, Razor. Its with sjc's Episode III map pack part II.

Thanks for the info on the blocking. So, is it a pure manual aimming or does the player auto lead the target a bit to make the bolts hit?

As for the bot routing, it involves some fundimental differences in how the bots use the nav routes. TABBots intelligently take pathes to get to their destinations and the normal bots simply follow the path sequencially back and forth. I might have to just manually reroute the map for the TABBots to fix it.

I'm pretty sure it's pure manual aimming and all based on what you have in your crosshires. If you target a random box that very close to a player, it will hit the box instead of the player.

In MB2, deflect 3 is hard to use once vets know you have it. I often end up deflecting at people who are not firing at me and are standing still because the person firing will move as soon as he fires.

I gotcha. Would you really prefer manually aimmed reflections like that or would you prefer it if the reflected bolts automatically went towards a enemy in any direction?

Or maybe have it so you can manually aim the shot if you're standing still and automatically reflect back when moving?

if the original firer is anywhere near the crosshair aimpoint make the bolt hit him by preference.

I kinda like the challage completely manual aiming, but this is fine by me. Either way would be an improvement.

It's too bad OJP can't 'auto detect' which kind of bot routing to use. Say if you're using a map that's been specially routed for TABBots, it'll use that one, but if it's say some addon map with only "normal" routing, it'll use that normal routing, to avoid conflict.

Then again some maps aren't even routed...

Are you fighting TABbots? If not, make sure you make sure you set them to be TABbots because they are alot smarter than normal bots and will retrieve their sabers.

You can select them be pressing escape going to the add bot option when the level is running and select them under the bot type.

If you are already using TABbots, than it is probably a bug that needs to be fixed or a feature that might have to change.

.....Oh wait a minute. Kurgan may have just answered it better while I was typing. Listen to him! lol

I've tried to be as liberal as possible with the backwards compatibility. The pre-existing botrouting should work if people who made them actually made routes that actually work with the basejka bots. Unfortunately, most JKA bot routing is complete crap to start with.

hmmm, the model being used shouldn't make any difference. Do the given bots maybe not have saber throw as a force power?

Earlier versions of the mod used to have this problem but it's something that I thought I fixed.
