Is there a max amount of planets you can add

I started adding planets, and after a while I noticed that the galactic map was moved around, but after I added more there were huge gaps, the more I added others would go missing, did I do something wrong, or is there a max amount of planets I can add.

I think it's 60 planets max. Or 80. More than that and the computer will start crawling. As for the minimap "spreaded planets" side-effect, it's due to incorrect planet distance remaking.

So the reason the planets go missing is because I didn't spread them out far enough?

were you editing the dat file correctly? cuase an incorrect reference to the dat or an incorrect entry in the dat file will cuase your planets to not show up

I believe I edited the dat file correctly, the new planets showed up, but some others would go missing, and the others would have nothing to do with the new ones

Its when you get 80 or so, it will start to lag, there is no limit to how many you can add

"It may be that the old astrologers had the truth exactly reversed, when they believed that the stars controlled the destinies of men. The time may come when men control the destinies of stars." -Arthur C. Clarke

"Ideals are like stars: you will not succeed in touching them with your hands, but like the seafaring man on the ocean desert of waters, you choose them as your guides, and following them, you reach your destiny." -Carl Schurz
