What do you mean by custom? We already have custom lightsabers.

I fancy, with hard disks getting fatter with the day, that customization should be the order of the day. New Jedi should be able to customize their hilt design, just as if they are building a lightsaber themselves. Even if they create a few hilts, I think they should have custom hilts. Nevertheless, the mod community should correct this even if the developers choose not to.

No, because it's just a little metal stick, and I've never heard of the first two 'KORTOR' games.

Ya it would be neat but what could they do besides the dooku hilt, the normal and short. I mean I'm all for it but would the only difference be a different style? if different hilts gave like bonuses to attributes or whatever than that would make it alot better to get.

Other games allow for weapons to be unique to the player, so the Saber should be also.

Well if K3 is as heavily mod-influenced as TSL was, then I would guess that it's inevitable. At this point my only concern is what they will look like. I remember the custom hilts that were available in Jedi Academy *shudders*

2 people have voted no so far... how odd. Anyone with reason why we shouldnt have customisable sabers?

Personally, i would like to see something along the lines of crafting your lightsaber like you did in K1, only maybe they could add another 3 slots for hilt appearance? That way for example you could chose the base of your saber, the grip, and the end of the emitter.

Would make things nice and customisable without over-complicating things too much, imo.

It's a waste IMHO. Who really pays attention to the metal stick in your hand?

True, and then if it didn't matter, why don't all blasters look the same?

I say yep, give us custom lightsabres.

I think a custom hilt will imrpove the connection between the player and the game, the one thing kotor is about. Personally, i totally agree. It should be somekind of mini-game, in wich you can drag ornaments etc.

I think it is a great idea. The mod that made this possible was downloaded many times, so there are many people who like the idea too.

Now my idea is you have the option of building the lightsabers, like in Jedi Academy.

I think that would be cool, but that does mean more system requirments. So I really don't care, but there should be the option of getting a hilt like Dooku's.

Maybe different modifications give the hilt a different look and have slight light or dark points, nothing overly obvious when you're fighting. Dark Side modifications make it more black with like spiked rings around the hilt while Light Side would be more silver and grey with flat or round decorations. Depending how you build your lightsaber in the first place in KOTOR3 that is.

For me this is a no-brainer; a lightsaber is a very unique, even intimate part of its weilders identity. Even if you barely ever see it, whether you even care, it's not too much work just to give every Jedi and Sith of importance a custom hilt.

Custom lightsabers would be a neat feature, but it's not a must on my list. I'd rather have other features instead. The only thing I really care about is lightsaber color.

Hmmmm i am thinking this may apear as, in example, if you change your focusing lens the looks of that part of saber changes etc. maybe some useless/magic ornaments could be possible.

Although I wouldn't want to mess with the actual blade's color and length beyond the standards, a custom saber hilt would be nice if it was visible while I played.

Well, fixations with Dooku's toys aside, yes, customizable hilts would be great. I mean, does ever lightsaber in the game really need to have the same hilt?

I think it should have "Custom Lightsabers" because it could describe the personality of your character.Whether Darkside or Lightside.

It would be neat if you could customize those sabers to the tiniest details. Hilts in other SW games and in the movies always look more complex and unique.

Yes,Kotor3 should have custom lightsabers that would look realistic, because i'm getting bored of having a sewer pipe instead of a custom lightsaber hilt.

Detail is important in character development.
Custom hilts could posssible give the player a sense of individualism thus a closer connection to his/her character.

It would be a nice addition and I, for one, would like the opportunity to play around and choose a hilt style for the character I'm creating.

...although I wouldn't make too much of it.
