Free Modelling Programs

Hello, Im new to modelling, but not the game though. I was wondering where I can get a good free modelling program. That can do .glms etc. If not, well then I dunno. We are awfully short on money so. Anyone can help?

gmax, Milkshape, and Blender are the only ones I can think of, although, you may need a plugins for them to support Ghoul2's.

I've heard good things about XSI mod tools. I'm actually check it out now. XSI costs money, but the mod tools are free.

I like Milkshape best. It is easy to make wepons (eg Lightsabers and stuff).
