Summer Movies thread!!

I'm bored as hell so I decided to start a new thread. Just list the movies you have already seen, or want to see this summer. You can say whether or not you liked them too.

I've seen Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (Awsome.) and Superman returns. (Decent)

I still want to see Monster House and Lady In The Water.

A few days ago I saw Click, with low expectations, but wow is it a good movie. The first half is funny and creative but the second half is a little depressing and preachy, think Butterfly Effect meets Bruce Almighty. 4/5

I probably wont see that unless I go with friends. That, or I'll wait till it comes out on video. I'm not a huge fan of Adam Sandler.

I saw Fast and Furious movie...eh it was better than the second one...and I've seen Cars...that is one great movie...even if it is for littler kids, there is plenty of little jokes that only adults would understand...see Cars if you can...

I didn't like Click because the commercials ruin the movie. I could only think of two funny parts that were not in the commercials.

I can only ever manage to watch them once...with the exception of Big Fish...which is excellent.

I hate how they said click was a family movie. There was a lot of cussing, a lot of humping, and a lot of middle fingers.

hehe...well...there doesn't appear to be a lot of family movies out...aside from your typical Disney/ pixar stuff, Monster House and the Ant Bully. (Although neither have come out so we can't be sure) Pirates of the Carribean definately pushes it.

Dude, yesterday Silence of the Lambs was on bravo and I was at my friends house. She was all "Let's watch it, c'mon!" But her ninny friend Sasha(female) was all "NO!" And I called her a wimp and we ended watching the last five minutes of it.

Speaking of M. night Shamalan, I love signs. It's a good movie to watch out in the country.

Hey, Silence of the Lambs was on last night. I didn't watch it. I did watch Pirates Of The caribbean tho.

I like M. Night Shamalan (I know thats spelled wrong) Everyone says his movies are sucking more with every one he releases but I think he's still doing well

...of course...I'm not very picky when it comes to movies.

Well, Adam Sandler was all old and was dying when his son was turning into the workaholic he was. So Adam Sandler got out of the bed thing and told his family and crap he loves them and all this other heartwarming crap and then he dies.

Then he wakes up in the Bed Bath and Beyond and fixes his life up. Aww, revelation.

As you can see, I'm not good at summerizing.

Doesn't sound like it actually ENDS sad...but it does sound like something that would depress me...like a Robin Williams film! I swear to god I can't watch him anymore because of films like Jack, Patch Adams and Bicentennial Man. (The last being the worst of them all...it wasn't funny and it wasn't a tear jerker...it was just TOTALLY and COMPLETELY depressing)

I've pretty much gone to the movies every weekend since summer began and still haven't seen anything truly great. I'm hoping to go see A Scanner Darkly this week.

I plan on going to see Monster House on Friday. It looks pretty good. A Scanner Darkly still isn't playing at any theatres near me. I might have to wait and catch it on DVD later.

I was originally going to see Monster House just because my mom wanted to, and she wanted someone to go with her, but now I think I'm looking more forward to it then Lady In The Water. This is probably just because I really enjoy animated films though...and because I'm really pretty sick of all of the films about talking animals...

Pirates was actually a very good movie, and I'm gonna go see it again soon...I recommend that you all see it at some point.

Yea...well I figure it's not
1. About talking animals, bugs or cars... (no offense to fans of any of the movies that these details apply to)
and 2. It's co-creator is Steven Spielberg...so how bad could it be?

It's actually the only animated film I've wanted to see since The Incredibles. And that's sad, because I really do like animation.

I saw Monster House last night. And yes it was good. It reminded me of Spielberg's older stuff, like Amazing Stories with a bit of Goonies mixed in with it. I saw Chowder as the spiritual succesor to Chunk from Goonies. Wait, was chunk the fat kid or the monster? Hmmm.. I haven't seen that movie in forever but he reminds me of the fat kid. Too bad they made him all goofy. It's a good movie that doesn't come across as being too kiddy or lame. Plus, I love me some Halloween time movies, and this is a great one.

I have yet to see Scanner though.

Yeah me too. Hopefully I'll see it before it goes out of theatres. I thought the animation in Monster House was beautiful. Something my art teacher would appreciate. And it was a lot funnier then I thought it was going to be. Although it was probably a movie they should have put out in October instead of July...being a Halloween movie and all.

I was thinking the same thing. It might have made more sense to release it October-ish and really pimp it out as THE scary movie of the season.

I liked the little bits of adult humor in there too. Like when someone mentioned the word "stash" and Chowder was giggled and said it again.

Yeah...what age group was that movie aiming towards though? The concept seemed more for kids...like it could have been trying for the Shrek age group, with the adult humor inserted...but about fifteen minutes into the movie I was thinking that that old man physically harassing kids and then collapsing in that way from a heart attack was probably a little dark for a childrens film. It is Steven Spielberg I guess.

If you go see Lady In The Water, go with the expectations of a child hearing a bed time story...and don't rely on M. Night Shamalans past productions.

I saw it yesterday and really enjoyed it...but I liked the Village...which was a film that a lot of people complained about. Lady In The Water is going in about the same direction...except I think it's doing even worse.

Oh...and Pulse looks super creepy...are you against going with an adult?

I've seen Garfield 2 (abyssmal), Superman Returns (great), Pirates 2 (awesome), and Nacho Libre (worth-watching). I also want to see Lady in the Water even though critics everywhere hate it.

Pulse looks interesting. I want to check that one out.

I'm going to stay away from M. Night Shalaymama's movies from now on. After seeing The Village, I just don't think I like his stuff anymore.

As for Superman, it was defiantly better then say X-Men 3. But just seemed alittle dull to me. I heard someone else say "I expected Superman to return from space and kick some supervillan booty. But instead he returned from space and was all emo." Or something to that extent.

LoL, how did Garfield 2 ever get a green-light? Didn't the first one bomb?
