graphics problem when running in windows xp

Hello all:
I've succesfully installed Grim Fandango on my computer: 2.8Ghz 2GB RAM, Radeon 9800Pro. The intro runs great, however when I get into the game there are static white lines over the entire screen. I read a post recommending to enable hyper threading, I've gon to Analyze Computer under Options and have enabled Direct Draw and Direct 3D Acceleration Enabled. When I go to the DirectX tab several files are listed as missing included ddraw16.dll and dxapi are missing. Re-installing DirectX doesn't help, does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

What about your graphics card drivers? Have you updated those?
