Is it even possible to kill that guard? Last time I killed everyone in the complex, he was just there, chilling, opening the door. After which he ran away.

In KOTOR or TSL?
1. In KOTOR you will purchase T3-M4 from Janice in the Upper City North on Taris. You can not purchase T3-M4 till you are given a quest from Canderous Ordo. You can’t complete the quest without T3’s help, so you can’t leave him behind.
2. In TSL you will run into him before you leave Peragus, so don’t worry about leaving him behind.
