Today:

One of those days, in a perfect world, (or, at least in one slightly less run-amok...) would have been far, far easier and shorter and smoother.

However, this is not that world,.. is it?

Sucked. In at least 12 ways.

Bummer.

That's exactly why I pay for Triple-A every year... although they really failed to come through for me the one time I truly needed them in the last couple of years, so I might just re-think that...

its frickin warm here now! highs in the 70's

next week should be back to reality in the 50's though....

My twin was here with his wife this weekend. They were not what I would call social butterflys before, and marraige has made them annoyingly boring now. We did nothing the whole time but watch TV and a movie(Thank you for Smoking, which was excellent).

I did do some shopping thought, and I may be purchasing something very soon.

what do you guys think of this:

F***! F***! F***! F***! F***! F***!!!!!!

What a sh*tty night. And it hasn't even really begun yet.

Way too much stuff. Way too loud. Not enough information. Too many last-second changes.

Really not the night I wanted to have.

F***!!!!

EDIT:

Well,.. survived the show, but didn't enjoy it.

Got to work in a foul, foul mood... and absolutely nothing the rest of the day threw at me changed that in any way except for the negative. Only got progressively worse as the day progressed.

I feel utterly capable at the moment of biting the heads off of small, cute, cuddly, furry things.

My mind is full of evil.

Well,.. goodnite!

well that sucks. i went over to my parents' for supper, had salad, spaghetti, it was good. tho i think i ate way too much.

got a email from the online recruiter, she's forwarding my info to a local recruiter...just glad i told my mom and dad what i plan on doing so they at least have a heads up this time. Last time i was stupid and didnt research any of the jobs, and took whatever they had...very stupid of me!!! at least this time i'm like 75% more informed as to what jobs there are, what i possibly qualify for, what i really am interested in, etc.

my main goal atm is to lose like 15-20 pounds, online recruiter said i'm 11 pounds overweight according to the bmi thing. guess i'll be walking, running, and riding bike for a few weeks to lose it.

I need to lose some weight. I need to find time to exercise so that I can lose some weight.

Lately my life has been working, or attempting to rest up in the extremely limited time I have so that I can work some more.

That whole plan of having a social life this year has totally hit the skids. No time for it.

Oh well... there's always next year. Or give up on the idea completely and say "Oh well,.. there's always next lifetime..."

Now,.. if I only believed in an afterlife or reincarnation.

Work was slow and dull.
Overslept this morning, and had to rush out to get to an appointment to discuss technical issues with a student doing something special for some upcoming show.
Turns out she showed up almost 2 hours late. Well, I really had nothing else going on, so it wasn't a big deal.
She was super-cute too,.. so it was difficult for me to get overly upset with her once actually in the same room. Yes... I am aware that's a very male attitude to take. Sue me.

The college's IT department was having an ice-cream social in their recently upgraded building to show off their new digs. Very nice... and free ice-cream to boot. Win/win. A good way to kill a decent chunk of a slow afternoon.

Long day tomorrow: 11am meeting. Set up and test video and electronic audio for an orchestra rehearsal (same girl tho... oh, twist my arm...) then setting up and running through Thursday night's concert... which is always huge and chaotic. All the international folk music from around the world. 10 or more different bands with almost no instrumentation in common. Fun stuff.

Looks like bed early tonight as well... maybe I can take Friday off, though. Another long one on Saturday again.

It never ends... well, I guess it will for me when I drop dead. Which doesn't really feel that far off at the moment.

work was boring...took us all day to get the film processor working. at least it went by fast though. tomorrow i do not work.

i think i know what vehicle i want to look into getting......I want to get a HUGE Van. a real van, not one of these SUVs/mini/mommy vans. have it painted gray or green....that would be cool.

i dunno what im gonna do tomorrow...probably go over to my parents' and go take the hunting blind out of the woods. that's gonna be fun...I hope that 2 foot of snow we got the other week didnt ruin it.

maybe i'll wake up tomorrow morning and go for a jog....i usually walk 1 mile to get to my starting point then i jog for a bit, then run, jog, run, etc til i run out of breath. it will probably take 2 weeks to get myself to be able to jog the whole way without stopping...i wanna be able to jog 4 miles to start, then run jog a mile, run a mile, jog, and run...then run the whole way. my main goal for that is 2 miles in 13 minutes, which is gonna be tough but it's 100 points...and that part was the hardest for me at basic, so if i can get that down i'll just need to work on my pushups and situps, i can do a good amount of pushups now, situps are a bitch for me, i dont have a "couch" i have a chest full of stuff, heavy enough to hold my feet down, but it's still tough and i feel slight discomfort in my neck and thighs around rep #23.

and i do need to start forcing myself to drink 8 glasses of water a day, as that helps alot in weight loss or so i read/hear.

i guess my one goal is accomplished, in that i stopped playing games as much as i did last year, and am once again trying to get a life.

@edlib: sounds cool. i work with a cute girl myself, not single tho. I wish i was as cool as bond, james bond.

I really don't have any idea of her status... just know she is easy on me eyes.

She is currently a student... while technically not exactly totally off limits (at least not in the way of a female student who worked directly under me,..) I can see where it would most probably be somewhat frowned upon.

So I'll just ogle when and where I can. (Subtly,.. of course.)

I can't imagine she could ever be the slightest bit interested in me, anyway. Actually... I honestly can't currently think of any member of the entire female population of the species I currently know who might be, or who could ever be interested in me.
I just don't seem to inspire that kind of reaction in the opposite gender. Most of what I get is utter indifference towards my existence.
That's generally the best I can ever hope for... because the most common alternative reaction seems to be sheer undisguised revulsion.

My friend used to have an A-Team style van. Painted it flat olive-drab with all matte black trim. It looked scary. That's what you should do.

Nah, you need an Austin-Martin. With cool toys, like Tracking pop up shotguns, ejector seats, torpedo launchers, missile racks and other cool things.

i had to glasses of water last night, and some powerade 30 minutes prior to running. it was more of a side stich ro whatever...used to get cramps in my leg but that was from not stretching afterwards/lack of water.

Today I flawlessly managed to fill up the gas in my company's car. Which is a diesel. But I could still drive home. By train.

MAN! Have I been in a nasty, nasty mood all day.

Almost feel sorry for all the folks around me. Almost.

If they didn't work me so hard I could get some rest and also some things done around the house... then I'd be in a better mood, probably. But here I am working another long ass day while things are going completely to hell in a handbasket in my personal life. **** 'em.

Ah, well... back to work. See you much later tonight... or more likely tomorrow morning.

****.

what personal life? yeah i hear ya...that sucks. i kinda am spoiled being part-time....dont gotta worry about those 5-6 days in a row. the paycheck suffers and i need a car....but otherwise im good. one thing ya could do ed, is drink a couple rockstar energy drinks...those helped me at the jay group, numerous times. and some of those caffeine pills. by the time you are on your 2nd rockstar drink, anger shouldn't be an issue, at least you won't realize that until it's too late....hahaha.

Well, tonight didn't go as bad as I imagined. Ended before 10. Still a nightmare... but not one quite as bad as the one I conjured up in my mind, anyway.

Yeah, by the time I leave work tomorrow night I'll be on my 10th day straight without a day off. And then it was only 1 day. And most of them before and since have been long, hellish days.

Part of the reason I was so bull**** earlier was that I got up this morning and was reminded of the area meeting we had (and you all already know exactly how I feel about those....) So I had to rush through my morning routine to get out even close to time. And I was still a little late. Not that I missed anything. Or even would have if I had chosen to sleep in later.
But I just really don't care for the logic of scheduling early morning meetings for a group of people who have to work late every night. Why mornings? Can't the same stuff be covered as effectively at 2?
Bit then, after all, I had to rush out of the meeting to go straight to work anyway... setting up the stuff I discussed with that student yesterday.

I'm totally burnt out. It's WAYYYYY too early in the semester for me to be this toasted. This is the easy, slow part of the Spring semester. The worst part is still ahead of us.

I'm truly not a pleasant person to be around when I'm exhausted. I'm the first to admit that...

I really hope I can sleep in a bit tomorrow... or I'm sure that I will commit multiple homicides before the day is through.

Headin' home...

now im gonna go walk to post office and get the mail. yaaaaaaaaaaay!

my hair needs shaved again....it's in the thick stage......

work today is at 12....so maybe i'll go for a 4 mile again.....i dunno prolly not a good idea, don't want tendonitis, that **** hurts.

11:20 pm... going home.

Show went well.
However; I've been feeling flu-ish all day, though. Throat on fire, body aches, weak and tired, head spinning, feverish, overall blah... Yep. Good times.

Seems my balls-to-the-wall candle-at-both-ends-as-well-as-the-middle schedule has finally caught up with me. Or spring allergy season has arrived with a vengeance. Either way... it is teh suck.

Hopefully tomorrow I can rest enough to clear it out of my system and face Saturday's shift... as well as the coming week of joyousness.

Later, boyoz!

didnt run yesterday, ran this morning. i walk 1 mile then i run a mile and back to where i started running, then walk the rest home. the walking before running helps alot...at first i thought i was gonna be hurting, cause my shins started to feel the road under my feet, but once i got to my 1 mile mark, it was gone. it takes about 20 mins to get there, by then im warmed up and ready to run. i timed myself and am capable of running w/o losing my breath for about 4.5 minutes, rest about 2 minutes, then run again. i sprinted about a minute near the end of my 1st mile of running, and on the way back i ran up a hill. i'm so glad the weather is warming up.

Feel a little better today than last night. Still gonna try to take it very relaxed today, though. I want to work tomorrow's shift. (I've already put in the pay voucher for it, and it gets to be a real pain in the ass when you hand off a shift you've already put in for...)

Walk it off!

Yeah... I dunno about that one. If it doesn't go away in a short while have it looked at.
Still have your appendix? That sounds exactly like what happened to my friend when his was about to burst. Was fine one minute, crippling pain on his left side the next.

I'm feelin' a little better today. Gonna try to make it in to work today after all.

better not be my appendix....i'm saving for a damn vehicle as it is...pretty sure its a muscle. probably from sleeping on the couch plus the running i did yesterday.

on second thought, it's weakness leaving the body. i'll be just fine.

Battle is a pure form of expression. It is heart and discipline, reduced to movement and motion. In battle, the words are swept away, giving way to actions-- mercy, sacrifice, anger, fear. These are pure moments of expression.

Well, I'm hardly a MD...

Could be just a muscle pull or strain... I also had that in my right side for a couple of weeks in 05, after doing all that shovelling with all those blizzards in a row. Hurt like hell.

Good luck with it...

The band tonight: http://www.myspace.com/dbrmission

Turned out pretty good. They were all super nice people, and it turned out they were happy with the mix. I don't think I did anything special or out of the ordinary... but hey! I'll take a compliment where I can get it.

Usually I mix exactly the same way for a regular weeknight student or faculty show, and all I ever get is attitude and hear about how the sound in our place is always so terrible all the time.

So,.. go figure.
