my day off....

woke up took shower got dressed went to cvs and walmart for groceries, came home played galaxies for about 90 minutes, gathered laundry and went to parents', then i played star fox command for over an hour, switched clothes to dryer, went w/my parents, picked up sister at work, went to restaurant, when we got in i was greeted by one of my 'regular' customers...(don't know if he recognized me) i had chicken cordon bleu, it was goood. I ordered cheese cake for dessert. was surprised afterwards when waitress brought out a cake for me. my mom told them it was my birthday. (though it was really last week, we didn't go out cause she wasn't feeling well) anyways she even took my picture and i got a pic of me w/the cake.

got back to my parents', picked up laundry, came home and watched the protector, it was a pretty good action movie.

Blonde On Blonde...

It's early. Damn early! I don't know why I'm up right now. Been up for over an hour. I had to get up early... but not this early. My alarm hasn't even gone off yet. Gonna be tired tonight after work.

But I'm sitting here, listening to "Sweet Child O' Mine" and re-reading through this thread.

One thought keeps coming back to me as I do: I really want to see a picture of Cracken's new avatar kissing Niner's new one. That would be hawt!

Is that wrong?

Of course, another thought: This idea will become far more entertaining for people to read after both parties have changed their avatars again.

I hate mornings...

That's an interesting idea , Ed.

Opened today. Went ok, short on people, which pushed my errand running back until 11am. But i didn't mind, got a quick break from the customers before the lunch hour, which was disgustingly busy. >.<

have tomorrow off. DOn't know what I'll do, but I'm sure I'll enjoy myself.

Ed, good show with the classic genesis. do you have selling england by the pound? foxtrot is great (mainly supper's ready and horizons) and the lamb is excellent, but SEBTP epitomizes everything that PG-era genesis is, for me at least. Firth of Fifth, Cinema Show, etc.

The Lamb is supposed to be remastered to 5.1 or something, and it may already be out, i don't know.

To answer the question now ed, I've been doing the damn thing, working at Best Buy (Inventory for life), going to school, serving my term as a deacon at my church, and in the search of a NEW girlfriend.

Anyone find it scary that I was eleven when I started here, and now I'm nineteen?

When I was eleven, I had no internet. Just some dinos and girls who didn't start to attempt to dress sexy before the age of 23. Of course they failed, because it was in '87. Tsk. Youth now-eight-years-ago-adays.

When I was 11 Return of the Jedi had not been made yet, and Atari 2600 was state-of-the-art technology.

Not even sure if the Apple II was around then... or the first IBM PCs...

Ike: I looked for it, and would have grabbed it too, but it wasn't in any of the bins. I'll have to go back again once I've absorbed all this.

Crack: Yeah, I was in bed by 8:00 last night. Would have made it through the night with no problem if my dad hadn't called at 9:00 and woke me up. Still, I managed to get back to sleep pretty quickly after the call. Just got back up.

Another busy night at LF... I have about 20 threads to catch up with this morning.

yesterday i woke up and went for my run, working on running as fast as possible, which is fun and all until i lose my breath. it was about 19 degrees when I did that...afterwards i went w/my sis to dunkin donuts for a coffee and bagel, then dropped her off by her car that my dad had to use to get to work, then i went in to work. work wasn't so bad, not too busy at all, this one guy bought like everything, camera, printer, picture paper, memory card, all equalling about $555....he said i was very helpful and all. I got told i was smart by three different people. what can i say, i know my stuff, either that or i'm a really good bull****ter.

woke up this morning with a sore throat. my landlords have the heat up to like 80...i'm roasting, time for some breakfast then I'll have to go to penndot and get a temporary license as i don't feel like going to dmv and waiting to get picture taken today.

I was six in 1987.

And now almost 20 years later, I found grey hair last night

I'm not really sure how long I have been finding them in my beard, my beard is brown, black, and red, some of teh red is so red its practically blonde, so its hard to tell if the white hairs are really just really red/blonde, so I just told myself they weren't white.

I need to hold out till Nov 2008, then I can go completely grey/white and I won't care near as much.....

I have a magnificent mane of hair and judging from everyone that came before me, I won't start to go gray until well into my 40s and no one on either side of my family for at least four generations back has gone bald.

I'm not sure about my grandfathers, but my father hasn't gone bald (and he's in his mid-60's now). He isn't gray, but my mother had salt-and-pepper hair at a fairly young age. It appears, however, that I inherited my father's hair, as I haven't gone gray or bald at age 40.

I have all the above conditions. (Except Nute's, that is. He has to die.)

I'm going bald and grey at the same time.
I used to have the streaks of red/ blonde hair in my beard... now that's all white. A lot of the rest is turning too...

Started thinning at 19. Fate is a cruel bitch. I had an awesome head of hair before that.

Of course, EVERY other inch of my body is now covered with thick luxuriant growth... just in all the places I don't really want it.

Curse you, follicle gods! *Shakes fist at heavens*

thats how it works ed.

my chest is slowly beginning to look more like my hairy stomach.........

My dads mustache got dark then gray, because the red/blonde went gray first, leaving the black and dark brown, then that began to slowly change

I'm still not as bad as my dad though... not yet...

He makes Robin Williams look baby smooth by comparison. He has to brush his arm hair back to read his wrist watch.

He's the missing link...

I have an uncle thats pretty bad, his part of my mom's gene pool is what I blame the endless amount of fluff on.

My older brother is getting worse still too, so it seems I have years of hair sprouting to look forward to.

getting hair on your chest, if you're a man, is actually a good thing, Zarg. getting hair on your back or your ears, or your nose (the outside) is a bad thing.

Cracken's stream of Conciousness:

Mmmm! food! Tastey. Eggnoodles+ Cream of mushroom soup+More mushrooms and ground beef. Yummy.

I need a better keyboard. This one sucks ass. It's so.... stupid. I keep having to fix mistakes because it doesn't register some of the key presses. Damnit!

Mt. Dew=godlike...

Why does Link have to kick so much ass? I never quite understood why a teenage elf boy can walk around and just pwn things like he does. He's awsome +20.

Hmm... this food needs more spice. Not enough kick to it. Must experiment more.

Cows. Moo.

I don't want to work tomorrow. At All. >.<

D.) All of the above.

The nose thing bugs me the most.

Another short, quiet day at work. Tested a few mics that got put aside as "bad." (Only one really was. Operator error is prevalent in my workplace.)

Quick and dirty training session with the other engineer on how to set-up and use the digital EQ system in the hall, and how to patch outboard processing with the digital console. She's never done much of that stuff before, but she's got a show coming up this week with a band that has their own touring engineer. Could come up.

Hopefully she remembers all the stuff I threw at her. I went kinda quick. But none of it should be that difficult.

well you said her, so I would just assume you will have issues

I had a 'long' day at work today, made up for the time I miss on mondays to go to a javascript class.

short lunch, extra hour and the end..........

its nice to be able to get stuff done around my desk without listening to my coworkers or the phone ringing etc etc.

The gf's stupid service sorority has now ruined 2 weekends in a row, this weekend they scheduled a 2 hour thing for 8am saturday, so shes not coming to see me till noon sat, we miss all friday night and sat morning, now next weekend its sunday morning, so she leaves early sunday instead of after dinner, one girl complained she does hw sunday night so they moved it forward, cuz ya know, you can't do hw in the AFTERNOON.

Its bad enough only seeing eachother Fri night-Sun afternoon, then this stupid place keeps moving **** to the weekends that trap her at school, only on the weekends of course we already made plans to be at my place for.

She's good, and smart... just a bit inexperienced.

Before taking this job I had 2 years of paying dues freelancing out in the field on every kind of sound system you can imagine, working almost every day of that time.
Then I spent another couple of years overseeing thousands of concerts in the small college recital halls on old, badly maintained, funky systems before I got a real chance to work in the big hall on the heavy-duty totally pro-level gear. And even then it was on our old analog system with the crazy patchbay and in the worst mix position you could have come up with in this hall...

She graduated college and started this job shortly after. Went straight to work on the big digital board. I'm not really bitter or anything... but I'm a firm believer in "trial-by-fire." If you don't do your time in the trenches, it's gonna bite you in the ass later.

I love working on the big, complicated, expensive, incredibly good sounding gear. Makes my job all that much easier. But I'm not a snob about it. I know I have the background and the chops to make any system (no matter how much a dog...) sound good. Might take more effort on my part... but I've already been there, done that.

My hair is very thick and grows rapidly. I have to get it cut every other month and that's after its already looked bad for weeks. I probably could get it done every month. So over my lifetime, i'll get, like, 33% more haircuts. And then when you're done paying for them forever, I'll still be soldiering on for decades. In the end, I lose because I spent thousands of dollars getting my hair cut.

I be one hairy mother****er.

EDIT:

Yay! I've spammed up the whole forum... and a couple of other ones I passed on the way here while I was at it. Now I feel like it was a full day, and can go to bed.

Yeah, well... true as that might possibly be... I have had a miserable enough time in my life so far just attempting to keep my face shaved.

It will be a snowy day in Hades before I ever brandish a razor towards any other parts on my body.

I guess I'll just have to suffer the consequences, what ever they may or may not be, of my inaction.

EDIT:
All that being said... this is pretty damn funny, though. Be sure to seek out the music video on the site... Heh heh heheheh...

EDIT II:
I wonder if we can break the 300 post-count number in this thread today... that would truly kick some serious boo-tay. It's been a busy month either way...

work was a drag yesterday....

got home and played knights of old republic II....turning dark side is so gratifying. mwahaha....

After my sister got off the computer I got on Galaxies and was on til 3am...my mark was in a private structure getting free gcw points...pretty lame, so i was like 'know what i'm gonna call in support....' so we got together like 8 imperials and went and hit the place...they had an imperial placing bases so they could bust them for gcw points (which must be obtained to get ranks and ability to purchase stuff from recruiters), we did 3 attack runs on it, and failed to get rid of them all. So we headed to Restuss PVP zone and dominated there til 3am...it was fun. i woke up at 9:30 this morning and i'm just getting ready to set out to kill some damn squirrels. Might post pictures later!

Battle is a pure form of expression. It is heart and discipline, reduced to movement and motion. In battle, the words are swept away, giving way to actions-- mercy, sacrifice, anger, fear. These are pure moments of expression.

Did you have a particularly traumatic experience with squirrels when you were younger 15? (I know I did... details to follow.) Or is it that they are just easy, plentiful targets in lieu of a profound lack of womprats here on planet Earth?

My particular squirrel-induced trauma happened when I was 9- or 10-ish. I was sitting at a picnic table in a parking lot, eating peanuts when this cute, grey, bushy-tailed fella scampered over to where I was and climbed up on the other end of the table and started regarding me with it's giant round eyes. "Oh how cute!" everyone around me proclaimed. "He wants a peanut!"
So I proceeded to take one out of the jar, and was starting to reach out to drop it down towards the other end of the table when the thing LUNGED across the table at me and chomped down hard on my thumb, ignoring the nut completely.
"Aaahhh!" I said, and started to wave my arm around for several long seconds in a highly comical fashion, squirrel still quite firmly attached to my digit. It was like something out of a ****in' Tom & Jerry cartoon.
I finally smacked it against the edge of the table and it let go and scurried off. It had bitten pretty deeply through the end of my thumb, right through the nail.

Fortunately for me, the parking lot I was in was to a hospital emergency room.
I wandered in, got bandaged up,.. got a tetanus shot (the day just kept getting better.)
My mother asked the doctor if I had to worry about rabies. "No, I don't think so..." "Why not?" "Because you're the 5th person to get bitten out there this month."

Huh?

This leads me to 2 possible conclusions:
1.) This animal had developed a ghoulish taste for human flesh and blood... possibly by raiding the hospital dumpsters and consuming medical waste it found there...
Or...
2.) Was part of a litter of squirrels trained to attack by a mad doctor or hospital administrator and released on hospital grounds in order to stir up more lucrative emergency room walk-in visits.

Either one is a frightening scenario for the future of human/ rodentia relations...

Seriously though... it sucked.

Another thought just occurred to me... It's probably a very good thing that co-worker o' mine who has the links to our location has never (to my personal knowledge, anyway...) clicked on them.

She's a devout vegan, and a very serious animal-rights/ PETA-type person,.. and I can only imagine the horror she would go through reading most of 15's posts to date.
For that matter, Cracken's too... as she regards McDonalds as the Evil Empire, and has often stopped people on the way back to their office with a fast-food lunch to write "McMurder" on the bag and to give a serious scolding.
So between Crack's employment at the world's worst animal exploiting corporation, and 15's blasting away at anything with 4 legs and a pulse, and the rest of us quietly complicit in these crimes... I don't imagine she would find much to like with the group of us.

She is a pretty knowledgeable fellow Star Wars geek(-ette?), though... so that does help score some points there...

Consequently... when I said that I often ranted about work in my journal entries, the first question out of her mouth was "Oh,.. did you ever say you have a crazy co-worker that goes around writing "McMurder" on everybody's lunch?"

At the time the answer was, truthfully: "No"...

Now, in case she ever really does show up, I'm covered...

Probably not gonna be real happy with the contents of this particular post, though... aw hell.
