Well, strength is the longest in the dictionary, but the longest is psychorythms, so both are correct.

It functions as a vowel, but is not one of the commonly accepted set of 5. So the word does indeed contain only one vowel, since 'y' is merely acting as a vowel and is not actually one. Though I'm tempted to disqualify you all, since the word is spelled "psychorhythms" and none of you were perceptive enough to catch the misspelling. That aside, I think 'strengths' is the better choice for longest one-vowel word, since it is commonly used, in the dictionary, and has no usage-related ambiguities like "psychorhythms" does.

A repost of my simple riddle:

I have destroyed worlds, but I have never felt any peace. I have destroyed a foe of mine, but never felt any sastification. I have many followers, but no friends.

Who am I?

Well of course y is a vowel... how could it not be? Like in my real name... the letter y is a vowel... it makes the e sound...

My last question still stands

I live, but I do not breathe... I sleep most of the time and am active during winter.

Stars, Force, and Scarcasm are not correct answers.

Bah, and I thought my riddle is simple.

Hint: A human is saying this.

@Silentscope: Nihilus?

@Ankain, again: Y is NOT a vowel, simply because it sounds like a vowel does not make it so, I don't see how Y can be a vowel.

Well that's because you're not an American! Only Americans... and maybe the British use Y as a vowel...

Ok... if you give up... I'll tell ya

the answer to my riddle was "The Cold" ya know... the sickness

That was a ****ty riddle. It makes no sense. Colds don't 'breathe', nor do they 'sleep' and they're active all year round.

You fail.

It's a vowel and a consonant. It's like the letter version of a transsexual.
