It means that Qui-Gon can also do the shimmering ghostlike apparition trick Obi-Wan does in Empire and Jedi.

That add-in with Christensen as the ghost of Vader was a stupid idea. Some say that they did that because that's what he looked like when he was "still good", but that takes away from the fact that he was redeemed at the end.

But anyway, that's a bit off-topic. But yea, Qui-Gon had learned how to do the whole Force Ghost thing and he then taugh Yoda, who then taught Obi-Wan.

Nope. Yoda told Obi-wan that Qui-gon had learned to preserve his ghost after death, and also told him he would teach him how to commun with Qui-gon. So Qui-gon taught both Yoda and Obi-wan seperatly.

But in the sequel books written by Timothy Zann it comes out that that ghost-trick won't last forever...at the end all Jedi have to become one with the Force.
