Of sequels and false hopes
I read the article about how DF has a new publisher, and it said the "un-named" game was a new idea. So all my hopes of a psychonauts sequel were dashed aside.
But I have a question: If Psychonauts is so popular and beloved by the gaming community, and if the ending begged for another game, and DF has a big publisher backing them, is there any chance for a sequel?
I dont see why they couldn't and/or wouldn't make another one.
Even if they didnt make another video game, why don't they at least keep the story going in a graphic novel or comic or book series or something; granted it would be no where near as fun and mind blowing as the game.
Or is this just the rantings of a complete noob who didnt get the memo of a second game?

I was hoping for a Psychonauts 2. An "unnamed game" that in reality IS the sequel would be awesome, but not getting my hopes up.

I don't think too many publishers would invest in Psychonauts 2 given the poor sales of the original, but I could be wrong.

The original sales sucked, but that was mostly due to poor advertising by majesco...
But sence then, psychonauts has sold alot more and every gaming review its gotten has been phenominal. Im sure a second psychonauts would have great sales, sequels usualy do.
The Milkman has completed his route.

What do you mean about debugging the demo?

Oh, I see. I didn't have any problems with it; I got mine off of Steam. I saw it when I was looking at my Half-Life 2 updates and decided to try it out.
My problem with the demo was that you don't really get the full feel for the game; no levitation, psi blasts, buying stuff at the store, nuttin'. Maybe they should've created a diff level or let you play one with the cool powers (Milkman Conspiracy?).

This thread is about the posibilities of a sequel or something....why must we discuss the demo's performance?

There won't be a sequal because God hates me.
"A few times in my life I've had moments of absolute clarity. When for a few brief seconds, the silence drowns out the noise and I can feel rather than think, and things seem so sharp and the world seems so fresh. I can never make these moments last. I cling to them, but like everything, they fade. I've lived my life on these moments. They pull me back to the present and I realize that everything is exactly the way it was meant to be."

well, I guess it's ANOTHER WWII shooter then. Remember back in the day when it actually took time and effort to make a good game. Now, you can pop out a $20 shooter in as little as 3 months!

A sequel is doubtful, but a comic would have been nice. Perhaps they can distribute it via Steam in episodes?

There damn well better be a sequel. It would be a cruel, cruel world if we never get one.
