Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar
I quit Galaxies...didn't have enough funds available to continue subscribing....so I'll be out til they fix the bounty hunter profession...which won't happen.
I just got accepted to beta test Lord of the Rings Online, I'm wondering if anybody else here is on the beta.

Possibly, have not heard much about it yet, but LOTR online sounds good.

well, It is going to be a carbon copy of wow (almost) with swords, magic dudes, ranged guys ect.
And, how did "Fund Issues" make you quit, and if you quit, who did you give your credits too, or are you coming back ever!

....enough with the damn credit moaning already. you're not even high enough level to actually NEED them so stop whining. I'm not permanently quitting. fund issues=no money in bank to continue subscribing as my bills are catching up to me thanks to my job changing to part-time on me.
No, it's nothing like WoW. There won't be any PVP or Wizards.

Actualy, LOTRO is probably one of the best games I have ever played. The graphics are amazing (unless you have a crappy graphics card), and I find the game play extremely fun.

it's definitely one of the best Lord of the Rings games that I have played. Much better than Third Age.

From the pics iv seen of LOTRO the graphics look really bad and cartoony. Havn't played it so the gameplay might be good.

The character graphics are good, and the environment graphics are amazing.
You probably just got a look at the game on the lowest graphic settings.

Well I heard mostly bad things about it. Well if they would include a quenya translator and such maybe they would attract some elf fans for a short time.

The PVP system isn't very good, but they might fix that.
Quests are very fun, and items are OK.

Bah, I did the beta, and played on the day of launch. Half the quests that require you to kill X amount of things are always camped... Plus it was an ok game. I only really liked the cooking part...
Oh and the pvp was just plain retarded lol.

I spent a month playing LoTRo and its a complete clone of Warcraft - fine if you like Warcraft, which I dont. I found the whole experience linear with dull quests, poor loot - and a system where theres no waypoints (as such) to the location of your next quest. You just get a 'somewhere North, you will find NPC', when infact, he was south!
The community is nothing like Galaxies - I dont know what it is about speech bubbles but they work and feel like youre actually having a coversation, instead of LOTRO text above head that you can hardly read, format.
Overall, its pretty but offers nothing new to the world of MMO gaming and really, I was hoping that it did. /cancelled
