Great article, NS.

I'm rather curious as to why Astro wants a PS3 so badly.

Fix their home team score on the board to the debt clock, they can win every game 17,000,000,000,000 to 24. Losing team gets taxed by the IRS 100%, then droned."

Well, imo, I'm rather happy Europe (we) get the PS3 later. The initial America/Asia launch just sucked, with far to little consoles, crappy games, and empty promises.
I hope Sony has learned of their mistakes, and make the European Launch better.

But your article actually proves they haven't thought of it at all:
Random Eomployee: "Hm. We don't have much launch-games, now Kutagari-San?"
Ken: "Hey..idea! Let's remove the backwards-compatibility, so we FORCE them to buy our crappy release games!"
Random Employee: "Your geniousness is beyond me..."

The only game I would actually want a PS3 specifically for is Devil May Cry 4, other than that their range kinda sucks, but if I remember correctly, so did the PS2 launch range...

Astro's a downright Australian. Dunno why he would be after the PS3, but I have a feeling it might be somehow connected to the fact that he is an ardent Final Fantasy fan. Now I have no clue about further FF titles coming out for there PS3, if any are coming out.

I don't care about this issue. I'm not the one for consoles, and I love my PC very much. I was thinking the PS3 has been doing pretty badly recently, but Sony must be attempting suicide, from the looks of things. Or is it an insidious corporate plot, unpredictable by the finest economic minds.

FFXIII comes out on PS3, I know that much, but I don't think any game is worth paying the ridiculous price they're asking for the PS3...

It's official: Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has announced that the already-delayed PlayStation 3 console will launch with different hardware that will support "a broad range of original PlayStation titles and a limited range of PlayStation 2 titles."
Gee whiz, isn't that just phenomenal you guys? You can play a bunch of 64-bit graphic games on your new $1000 PS3.

Sony deserves to see sales plummet and crash like a shuttlecraft in KotOR2...

To demand more money for an inferior product? I'm sure somebody must have smoked something they were not supposed to.

I can see Sony executives considering the situation and wondering about what to do about the competion: "Evacuate? In our moment of triumph? I think you're overestimating their chances!"

This is what happens when Sony tries to make the Plagiarise Station 3 unique. Well, this and the freaky banana controller they had planned.

What a shame. PS3 is going the way of the Gamecube.

I think i can sum up the PS3 by saying this - $999 for an ugly George Forman grill with terrible launch games. The PS3 as the creators of Doom and Half-Life have even said is that it's nowhere near as good as an Xbox 360. Go for a 360 or a Wii...no use buying this junk of a console. Also forgot to say that Sony thinks the customers are dumb enough to beleave it's worth buying for its absurd price because of teh Blu-Ray DVD...i tell you now, nobody should be stupid enough to buy this console and think its the next-generation of DVD and gaming.

@ milo: We stopped using bit ratio to describe a consoles power a LONG, LONG time ago since it has become redundant and meaningless. Time to play a little catch up
