Your non-Kotor/SW hobbies?

Mine- Rollerskating (well not really a hobby more like a fun pastime/activity)
Painting (I just bought a whole slew of paint, canvas brushes etc as I've been neglecting my other creative outlet)
Writing - things that are not vaguely SW related but usually with some sort of SciFi'edness about them.
I don't know if watching films and cheesey sci-fi tv shows counts as a hobby but I do an awful lot of it.
I also do a lot of social/after hours organising at work including a Supper Club and a Bowling Club (as in ten pin)

Call me Paz, PP sounds like you're p!$&ing on my head

as far as actual hobbies go:

programming computers
building computers
working on cars
racing cars (at the circuit, not the street)
creative writing
gaming

and i used to spend time building airplane models. i have quite a collection of various military aircraft with my masterpiece being a 1:72 scale Enola Gay (the B-29 that dropped the bomb on Hiroshima). unfortunately, i just recently sold that model to a collector since i'll be moving soon, and those models are a pain in the arse to keep intact during the whole moving process. my other models are probably going to go on sale in the coming garage sale as well.

The SCA does re-enactments of the Middle Ages and Renaissance--pretty much anything from the fall of Rome to about 1600 AD. It's an international organization, so there are chapters all over the world (including 2 aircraft carriers, apparently. ).

I see that the SCA isn't so strick about the material of the costume. I would love to do some Civil War or Revolutionary War re-enactments. However in order to wear an authentic costume it must be made out of wool. No thanks come the middle of July.

Watching AFL, European Football and Cricket. And depending on the occasion, I’ll watch other sports.

Playing pool, beach cricket, darts and golf. I also run and do weights. But they (running and weights) aren’t exactly hobbies.

Talking about pretty much anything my mates and my family members bring up. AFL, Euro Football, philosophy, most sports, KotOR III (but I only talk about KotOR III with you forum folks) and la la la ladies are my favourite topics for discussion. Talking about TSL and KotOR on this forum I enjoy too.

Talking about things with you folks (mostly KotOR, TSL and KotOR III) on this forum and the Obsidian forum.

Watching movies, writing and constantly using my imagination (which I mostly use whenever I write). Duh.

Playing games from time to time (only on the Xbox 360 these days). Although I’m not nearly half the gamer (time spent on playing games) pretty much all of youse are I assume.

Talking about myself and looking at myself in the mirror. Yeah, I’m a poser, with a very inflated view of myself, but what can I say? That’s just me.

And yeah, that’s about it.

I’m not all that big on Star Wars to be honest. OT and TSL? Hell yeah! TSL wasn’t really “Star Warsy” anyway. The rest of Star Wars? Pfft, whatever. KotOR is good, but highly overrated. I don’t take notice/follow anything else Star Wars related.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot. I love animals, and love talking about them. And playing haki games is a hobby of mine too. And drinking vino (red wine).

No, they're not strict at all about it. The only requirement is to make 'some attempt at pre-17th century clothing'. We've had new people come in with bathrobes over clothes, toga type things, and 2 towels pinned together at the shoulders and that's fine. If we get advanced notice that they're coming, we usually find garb that they can borrow for the day so they feel more a part of things. There are people who do some phenomenal garb recreations, but the emphasis in the group is to re-create the fun things of the time period, not to be nutsoid about authenticity. Most of us have several simple outfits and maybe one fancy outfit for Court. I usually do a pseudo-Italian Renaissance outfit in cotton or some cotton-poly tunic dresses since those are comfortable in the summer and are washable. I need something I can move freely in and don't mind getting dirty since I often serve as a first-aid provider (happily, I'm usually not very busy doing that! ). However, I have a decked-out silk-lined velvet Tudor dress complete with French hood and full of beads and pearls that I wear for very special occasions. I've been in the group for over 20 years, however, so I've built up the clothing over time.

I can't do wool well, either--I'm allergic to it. I have a wool cloak because it stays warm when wet, but it's lined in cotton so that the wool doesn't come in contact with my skin.

I spend as much time with my kids as I can. Other than that and work, I don't get much time for anything else. I do like writing medieval poetry, camping, woodworking, and my latest new activity, reroofing my garage in January (in Wisconsin!).

I love to debate in my spare time, especially when it's formal debate. The topics my local team gets are excellent, too. (Usually things like the use of deadly force or current events)

I also like discussing political/philosophical junk with people, and definitely reading. The three mesh well.

I also draw, though it does absolutely nothing productive and I don't often show off what I make. More hobby-like than the other three in some regards.
