How to add weapons to a multiplayer map?

How do I add weapons to a map, because Ive tried adding a weapon entity, but nothing shows up in game. So how do I add weapons?

Are you sure you have set up the radiant for mp mapping ?! If not go ahead and select the right pointfile.
