Which monkey is the best?

I think Monkey Island 2 is the best, then comes Monkey 1 and last but not least comes Monkey 3. What are your opinions?

I hope anyone haven't asked this before.

MI2... its the pinnacle of perfection for the series... & Guybrush had a beard

MI1 was just held back by technology!!!

CMI WAS funny, but it just lacked that 'Gilberty' flair & subtle humour... i guess the jokes just weren't as subtle cos of the voice acting

EMI stands alone... it seems like a different series/genre, but still rocks

I'd say:

1) LeChuck's Revenge was by far the best in the series!

2) I'm gonna go for Curse of Monkey Island, because it was good and funny, but laked compared to Monkey 2. It kept the two difficulty modes, which was great. But Guybrush was a little too thin and funny shaped face. But the Bango deuling was excellenct!

3) Secret of Monkey island, because it's the one I've played the least, cos' I found it pretty easy Monkey 2 I spent months on. And because I haven't finished Escape yet!

Monkey 3 also had MURRAY! As well! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!

Hard to split the first two, but in the end I'd have to go with the original because it has the better ending. MI2 is second.

COMI is next, it's visually stunning, but the humour (besides Murray) and story are fairly weak.

EFMI is definitely the worst. Ugly graphics, bad story, abysmal humour, obtuse puzzles, it's really a game with nothing at all going for it.

Monkey 2 was monkey 1 and then some. better graphics, more humour, music, and a killer storyline.
monkey 3 was good but lost something in the translation (Ron Gilbert)
monkey 4's storyline is so innacurate i nearly threw up. the controls are an ugly betrayal (everything could have been done with a mouse) and the characters were acting wrong (since when does le chuck act like an idiot and take orders

I have a theory about ants. I figure that if I step on every ant I see, then eventually by natural selection the ants will evolve to avoid me. It may take a few million years, but I'm patient.

I have a similar theory about voting against the presidential candidates who equally annoy me, but they evolve even more slowly.

Hmmmm... What's so funny about LCR? I remember an extremely difficult adventure game, with a few jokes and awkward situations. Nothing more.

SMI is probably the funniest adventure game ever released. The fight between Guybrush and the Sheriff in Elaine's mansion is a monument of absurd humor.

CMI and EMI were pretty funny too. The opening sequence of CMI is perfect (I would say that it's a cl***ic, but I can't stand all these stars in my p*sts). The whole Jambalaya Island segment in EMI deserves a mention as well.

But LCR? Enlighten me there. I don't remember laughing while playing that game.
