The Waiter won't enter the pantry...

I've reached a total standstill with GF, and finally resorted to looking up a walkthrough, only to find that I seem to have done things in the wrong order. When I picked up the turkey baster, it didn't occur to me to shut the Waiter in the pantry - I didn't think I needed anything else in the kitchen at that point.

My problem is that now I need him out of the way in order to progress, but no matter how long I stand around the kitchen, the waiter won't come in. Is there a particular action that will trigger him, or did I miss my only opportunity? I don't have a Save Game to revert to unless I go back and play from the beginning of Year 2 again, which I'm reluctant to do. Any ideas?

Have you tried turning on the wine keg? That at least should bring him in.

My friend helped me out - turns out my problem was that I hadn't brought Glottis to the lounge yet. Thanks for the advice anyway.
