Gout at 18 years of age!?

Have YOU ever heard of a person, who is only 18, have gout?
I haven't, thats for sure.

Well, apparently, there's a big chance that I may have it.
How stupid is that?
I'm only 18 for god sake!

For people who don't know what gout is, its:
- Gou is a form of arthritis caused by the accumulation of uric acid crystals (due to hyperuricemia) in joints. It is an immensely painful disease, which in most cases affects only one joint, most commonly the big toe. The patient usually suffers from two sources of pain. The crystals inside the joint cause immense pain whenever the affected area is moved. ...
Source: Gout

Two days ago i took the dog for a walk right, and i though a bee had stung me on my foot, so, knowing that im allergic, i went back home. (i did the stupid thing and went walking bare foot!) I took a antiestimine for it and thought nothing else of it that night. But the next morning, my foot had swollen to a larger size and now i rash or something had started to form on the top of my foot. Again, i took a antieistamine thinking that it was still a bigger reaction to a bee sting than what i would usually get.

Today however, my foot was still swollen, the rash was still there, but now i also had a purplish/blue colour tinge forming on my toes and foot. Went to the doctor tonight and he said that it may be three possibilities:
- Blood infection. (no idea how that could have happened)
-Fractured foot (Again, no idea of how it could have happened)
- Gout.

(Gout being said to be the largest possibility of the three.

I've read up about it, and it's supposed to only occur in the ages of 30 - 50.
Like, dang.
Anyway, I'm going back to the doctors for 'tests' tomorrow so that i can actually see if i have it or not.

Man it is going to be crap if i do actually have 'gout' ... not going to be happy at all!

cut it off, problem solved.

Battle is a pure form of expression. It is heart and discipline, reduced to movement and motion. In battle, the words are swept away, giving way to actions-- mercy, sacrifice, anger, fear. These are pure moments of expression.

Gout usually happens age 30-50, but can happen at younger ages. The rash is kind of odd for gout, though, but that's not my field of expertise. A simple blood test will give you the answer, and if it is that, it's usually just a pill you take every day to control it so that it doesn't cause joint damage.
Spider and tick bites can get infected and you might not ever know you got bit. If there's any chance you got bit by a tick, tell your doc.

Sorry to hear that man, although I admit i've never heard of the disease, maybe a bionic toe wouldn't be such a bad idea?

A Bionic toes sounds ............. awesome!
Man i would so go for that if i got the option. Apparently for gout, the "rash" is just one of the "starting" symptoms for it to be recognized.
Something liek that anyway.
But yeah ... Bionic toe ... i want!

Yeah, but that sound whenever you walked would get on my nerves after a while... then theres the slo-mo whenever you wanted to do anything.

Needles aren't that bad, I get shots every week. For some reason I bleed more than anyone else who gets the allergy shots. Once after I got my shots, I walked down the hall to the lobby (it's a skinny hallway), didn't realize I was close to the wall, and left this big bloody streak on the wall. So needles really aren't that bad.

Hope for your sake Mr_BFA that it's not gout, but then you couldn't get that bionic toe.

Just got back from the Doc's.
It was awesome (yet, somewhat disturbing).
When the Doctor put the needle in my arm, she said, "OK, you might just feel a *little* sting."

............. A little? ... I'd hate to see what a *big* sting would be, lol.

And the funny part was when she pulled the needle out and blood started to spurt out.
(I then proceeded to tell her, that I've played Trauma Center on DS and that i knew exactly what to do ... but she didn't let me do anything about it ... I then realized i tried using a mind trick on her, and she just asked what i was doing ... )

Results come in, in a couple of days so i shall see then, whether or not a will be able to ask for that Bionic Toe!

@REDJOHNNYMIKE: That would have been "bloody" awesome to see!!!
