GODDAMN SHOCK THE MONKEY!!!
plz get rid of that shock the monkey ad banner - ok yeah u need to get some cash in for the site, but that particular one is causing chaos with my computer. The mouse speed moves to a trudging jerking movement, and is totally unresponsive and its not just on your site, it affects everything else im doing as well when that damn monkey-zapping device is enabled. please find a new sponsor or something... anyone else having trouble with it or is it just me???

Sorry for any problems it's causing. Don't think it's that simple to change. I'll talk to Zero about it

Yeah, I hate that ads too. Although I think there's no way to get rid of that ads 'cause it's not from escapemi.com but it's from ign.com...

I'm sending word to eFront about that ad right now. I will ask that they remove it from our servers.
If you will, please let me know what O/S you are running and what browser version you are using. (ex: Windows 98/Netscape 4.7, MacOS/IE 4.0)
Thanks,

I think if you're using IE, it will load the Java applet banner, where the zapper will move with your mouse, which is why it takes so long to load. If you're using Netscape, it just loads up an image, so it is probably faster.

no they didn't
I still have it. But I don't care. It's just... ANNOYING, if you pay attention to it. So don't pay.
Just as simple.

As much as I would like to just ignore it, it's a little bit more complicated than that.
When I tried to read this forum from home, it caused my Internet Explorer to freeze, which in turn caused the other programs to freeze... So I disabled Java, and then it worked.

It works fine for me while I'm at work, but I have 256MB of RAM here, whereas at home, I only have 128MB, so that might be the reason.

all we're asking is for a different ad. it's hard to concentrate with that frickin monkey sliding back and forth across my screen!!! go back to the old, boring ones. plus who are they kidding, how easy is it to win the stupid monkey thing. all you do is hold down your mouse button and drag it around and you win. argh
