Great games?
I learned about Monkey Island through Grim Fandango. But I have a question. The monkey Island series are more then 10 years old. So where they great games and worth while to play?

Monkey Island series are all worth to play...big dose of humor there
IMHO the first 2 sequels are the best, and funiest
Things I allways love in MI are sword insults, but a shame they didn't show on part 2,but still lots of fun...spitting contest etc...
The 3rd part is also cool and graphics are nice...plot is very funy and puzzles are cool...
The 4th part is cool, but all is in 3D and you dont have point n'click sistem, that's a shame
But i recommend to play all 4 parts and enjoy one of the best lucas games of all time

Superb, Terracentral. They formed a lot of the basis for Grim Fandango's gameplay.
Monkey Island is seen as the best adventure game series ever made by more people than Grim Fandango is, even though I personally think Grim Fandango has the edge. But with that said, I couldn't possibly choose between them.
Monkey Island is more legendary than Grim Fandango, though. It's a must-play.

I wouldn't say that they are as good as Grim Fandango, but they're excellent games worth checking out.

I'd say 2nd after the Indiana Jones games that LA made (if we're talking strictly series based games)...

The only adventure game I've ever played that's better than Monkey Island is Grim Fandango.

How is Monkey Island compared to the various Star Wars games?

Yeah, I liked the Monkey Island games (maybe not four) more than KOTOR.

Yeah, so did I. The kotor games could have used a LOT more work though. I think that Mass Effect has just about fixed it, now they just need to use that to make a new kotor.

Do you think Monkey Island should be remade as a series?

What's with all the questions? Is this some kind of stealth interview?
If you're interested in the Monkey Island games, go play 'em. You're unlikely to regret it.

Monkey Island is one of the greatest video game series ever. The first two are the best, with the second being my personal favourite because of its absolutely EPIC ending. The third was pretty cool too, but the fourth was majorly disappointing.
Really, you're missing out on some of the loudest laughs of your life if you haven't played the Monkey Island games yet.

While I wouldn't mind it if its done, it would lose that beautiful pixellated charm of the originals. Really, those are experiences that leave you in a sea of nostalgia.

Were they made today, the only real difference would be in the better graphics, otherwise, things like story and gameplay would pretty much be the same as they were pretty much perfect back then. Should they be remade? In my own opinion, no.
