SWBF 3 Squad Commands Poll
Shouldn't there be more commands? Instead of just Hold, Move Out, At Ease, and Follow Me couldn't there be controls like Attack Vehicle or Attack Command Post or Attack Nearest Enemy.
What new comman, it you like the idea at all, would you like best?
I vote for Attack Vehicle.

if would be cool if you could also have a specific type of AI follow you. like order all troopers to follow or bazookadudes to follow you etc.

I'd definitely like to see Attack Vehicle and Covering Sniper Fire (or just regular covering fire).

I'd like to see a ranking system like Battlefield 2's incorporated into the game. Meaning that you can only issue squad commands if you're a sergeant, and then you can issue more commands the higher your rank and then when you're a commander you can issue a limited number of orbital bombardment.

the orbital bombings werent very satisfying
there where only 5 to 6 blasts and they were in a very confined space.
if you were to close to a wall they would hit the roof. and if you took to long to get into a good position you either ran out of power or were shot down

I've never been a big fan of the squad commands. I always thought if I wanted to command a squad I'd play Star Wars Republic Commando. I like the minimum commands we have now in Battlefront 2.

While I agree with you trip to the hammer time, BF3 needs to have at least a few commands. Imagine if you were sent to war with only the ability to say follow me and dont follow me. You would probably die in the first firefight. While there shouldnt be things like "take out that specific enemy", they could at least have it like Battlefield games where you have things like ____ spotted, attack CP ______, need pickup, ect....

Yea, I see the point. I definitely used the squad commands in SWBF1 way more than SWBF2. When I started playing SWBF2 they became almost useless, so I guess I got used to gameplay without them.
I think cover fire from a sniper with a wide range is too much. However; cover fire from troopers might be something that could work well. I think 5 is too much though. Maybe all the AI within a certain radius of where you gave the command. It could be 1 or even 5 if it worked out that way. All the "Attack xxxx" commands could be the "Cover Fire" command, just lock on a particular target for whatever you want attacked. If you don't lock on a target, it becomes a general radius or... whoever has locked on you as their target, would be the target of the cover fire when the command was given.

It doesnt even just have to be for AI, its alot easier and faster to press f4 f2 than it is to type "go to___" and less likely to get you shot in the back of the head. And on that note, they need to make it so you can at least shoot while typing.

I think giving short basic commands is the only way they can do it. Fall back, attack nearest vehicle, attack nearest solider, hold position and follow me are good basic commands.

Maybe you could use it when rebels so your ai buddies actually fight living enemies instead of the bodies of the stormies you killed.

see and thats stupid. I play SP for the sole purpose of mod maps. I dont want to spend 10 hours getting so I can tell some idiot to follow me. At the very least, make it so you can turn off things like that so I can get my map playing done and then go on multiplayer and not have to farm to get allies

I think "fall back to last command post" would be a decent command.
Even in multiplayer a general command would be nice.
Usually everyone, be it AI or someone, are spread out which results in 60 dudes rushing the last CP resulting in loss etc etc

They should just use a commander.
Just like battlefield man. It is very handy and especially because it isn't a dumb AI person.
And then you also need to squad up off course and receive or give or ask for commands.

I still think that attack command post would be an extremely useful command. They had that in Battlefield 2 and it was a godsend. I would think it would be the same in this game.
