I think the last FPS I REALLY enjoyed was Jedi Outcast. Jedi Academy was OK, and Doom 3 honestly wasn't horrible, but it went on WAY too long, and I got pretty bored with it. I did love TimeSplitters 2 and Serious Sam on the GameCube, though.

I don't know. Maybe I'll just forget about the whole thing and write some songs instead. Haven't done that for a long time.

I never played HL 1, so I have no real comparison.

The HL 2 games are cool for that FPS genre... but if you aren't a fan of FPSes, they may not do anything for you.
I'm not a huge fan myself... but I like these ones.

Try a demo if you can still find one.

I'd also recommend the KOTOR series, which I have just gotten into... but you say you don't like RPGs. They are really good though, so you may not mind these ones.

But perhaps you are best to wait for 'Force Unleashed' at this point.

yeah KotOR is awesome. have you tried Republic Commando? it seems you like the star wars fps' the most, maybe give it a try?

I just installed rc on my sis' computer but her video card sux so it ctd'd. -_- my dvd drive works at least, am installing swg right now, think that will have the same problem...it has 512mb ram, takes DDR1 so need to get 2 512s or 2 1gbs to fix the speed issues i think. and i could get a pci (not pci-e) card. not sure how much it would cost to get all that done. probably around $100.

I have played Republic Commando. Didn't like it much - in general, I don't care for squad-based stuff. It's true, I did like the Jedi Knight games a lot, also Doom, and Duke Nukem 3D. Perhaps Duke Nukem Forever will interest me...if it ever comes out.

i started playing WoW (yeah i hate myself for it too) and really if you ignore the lifers and the nutbars, its not so bad. Like Morrowind except with less of a lonely feeling.

Post projection update...after the first quarter of the year, we're on better than 3,700 posts for the year.

I think I noticed an April Fools joke here...my own post count shows 0, but I see a normal post count for everyone else. It's also appending my quick reply to this post as an edit to this post rather than adding a new post to the thread.

Interesting.

Kind of a waste of a day at work. I probably could have taken it off and it wouldn't have made any difference. But it was fun, if not exactly productive.

Sleepy again. This sucks: getting home from work and heading straight to bed every night. Blah.

Long day tomorrow, though. It's probably not a bad idea...

just played Battlefront II for about an hour, it's pretty fun, though has that arcadey feel to it. i like being able to control the vehicles in it.

no word yet as to when i'll be able to get the other computer stuff. grrr....i'm about to just checkout at tigerdirect w/that case and mobo/cpu combo...

Can't wake up today to save my life. It sucks.

Every time I sit still for more than a minute or 2, my eyes close, and my head starts bobbing.
It's made for a fun day at work...

I got a decent night's sleep last night (for a change...) so I have no idea what's wrong.

In a ****ty, ****ty mood all day too. Lots of fun.

Oh well... just got to get through tonight's show and get home.

lol@ed

i got to work 12-9 today insted of 10-6. it was fun. gonna order comp parts off tigerdirect tonight i think. hmm gotta wait for my payment to the credit card to clear first. ordering the case, mobo/cpu combo, cpu cooling fan, and 120mm case cooling fan. i did all my math and my bills wont get behind, paydays fall in the perfect spots for me this month.

not sure if i am doing this just to play a game or to keep my mind off of where i'm at. =\ outside of being here and work, i'm doubtful that my friends will want to go bowling friday. might see if my one friend wants to go to the range either tomorrow or friday.

feels good to have days off where i don't have to move, though if i am just sitting here i know i'll end up being ordered to go do **** i don't really want to and being bitched at for sitting around. already got in a fight on friday w/my mom when i was moving stuff outta the apt she had start on my case about me doing what i like to do (games) and i got pissed and told her to shut up, which in return i get called out for being disrespectful and so i said 'well where's my respect?' and she called me a son of a bitch and i came back with 'wow that makes alot of sense' that fight was over her saying somehting under her breath like 'games games games' i guess something about me spending nearly all my time playing games (computer/xbox) which i guess is true but the way she said it made it seem like i was doing something wrong, like i am not good enough for anything. almost seemed racist.

i've tried giving up games, but i get bored as hell cause there is nobody to do anything with on a day to day basis (besides work) and so i get depressed and end up hating everything and everyone in the process of avoiding gaming.

i moved the rest of my crap out of the apt yesterday and my ex-landlord had the ****in nerve to bring up the thing about me putting the trash out at the dumpster again. like i owed him or something. well he can kiss my ass. i just let him blab about it and was like 'mmhmm....' and left. no sense bitching about week old history that doesn't matter to me anyway. i think he's a coke head.

my car is running nice. i get about 270 miles a tank, i'd probably get more if i drove on an actual highway instead of up and down hills all the time. so no complaints there really......do need to get rust fixed..

hopefully i can have a good day today. today i would say was a good day. didnt have to go to work early like i was scheduled, had lunch from wendy's with my dad, didn't have too many bitchy customers either. oh yeah, and aside from this headache, i'm in good health.

Felt better today. At least I wasn't dragging ass the whole time.

Work was pretty chill. Shortish day. Steady, but slow. Cleaned up my desk area. Feels good to be able to see the desk surface again. Not quite as oppressive.

Walked tonight after work. The weather was finally warm enough for an extended exercise session. The coat I wore was too heavy, though, and I got pretty sweaty. Oh well... felt good anyway.

I'm thinking about trying to restrict my online time, 15. That's going to be rough. But if I added up all the time a day I waste in front of this screen, I'd probably be horrified.

I finally weaned myself off of TV for the most part... I don't believe I watched more than 2 full hours in the last couple of weeks. And those were watched while I was doing something else.

But the 'Net has got me trapped. I really need to cut back a bit, and get back to reading real literature, practicing and listening to music, exercising, doing long overdue projects around the house, using the XBox I spent so much for,.. and just getting out of the house and interacting with genuine humans in general.

I think I'll start by restricting myself to no surfing the web during daylight hours. Then we'll see where I can go from there.

If I can get it back to a couple of hours a day max, I'll feel better about myself that life isn't passing me by... or at least as much.

But I know it's not going to be easy for me...

went and bought an ati visiontek 256mb pci card for my sister's computer...i couldn't wait any longer to play some games. plus its cheaper. and my sis prolly won't be wanting the comp back anytime soon anyway.

so last night i got onto the internet and SWG is installed and downloaded and i'm on! though i definitely need ram, so i just went to newegg.com and they had this thing to show you what kinda ram is compatible with your computer, and well i just ordered 2 sticks of 1gb and made it so i get next day delivery!

SWG runs at a better pace than it did back in '06 before i got the ram upgraded, so now it should run EXCELLENT with the 2 gigs of ram. can't freaking wait!!!!

Felt tired and blah all day again... but work was slow, so it was kinda OK.
Weather was too sucky to walk.

Got home and played a couple of hours of Gears. That was cool.

Work should be easy tomorrow. The singer looks hot.

Hopefully it will be a good day...

I'm due.

no bowling tonight. tomorrow maybe. big maybe cause i work 3-11....not that the time matters to me...4 hours sleep is all i need to function at work.

spent most of the day getting set up in SWG again...the ram shipped today so should be here tomorrow. it better be for the price i spent on it. none of this not getting it cause of a sunday or weekend....or people not being home lol

i'm wondering what republic commando and battlefront II will run like with the extra ram...

had a bit of an accident at work. When going forward the forks on my reach lift caught an expansion crack and tried to do a pole vault. instead I went from 5mph to zero, the 4000 pound lift's back end went up about 6 inches, sparks flew from my forks, and my face smashed into the grill. in a split second I was able to turn my other cheek and hit it with my cheek bone. I am going to get a bit of a shiner for a while. No concussion, no drain bamage. (from what I can tell)

the weather was awesome today. Got up to 62 degree's, sunny. Spent most of the day cleaning my porch, and tuning up my bicylce. Even rode around on it for a bit. Might even be able to ride it into work monday

glad you aren't seriously hurt!!!

my memory sticks should be here tomorrow....stinkin ups doesnt drive up here on saturdays apparently.

didn't sleep much last night. i was up until about 4:30...i guess i finally fell asleep at like 530...so maybe 3 hours of sleep at most. i blame it on the new grape flavored amp energy drink.

i work 1-9 today through wednesday. i like that shift, it's pretty easy.

Didn't go to the store... took a 3 hour walk instead. Better for me in the long run.

Put me a bit behind on laundry, however. Gonna have to prioritize just in case I don't finish today.

Think I'll take a nap while the next load is in, though.

Priorities...

Yea taxes suck this year. I have to use my state return to pay off my fed return, so I can get my Bush bonus bucks.

Work sucked also today.. even for a monday. came in and nothing was done. SPent all day picking orders, and even was asked to work overtime (hell ya)

Work was mostly casual. Not working the concert tonight... but I helped set up the stage, since it's a really crazy setup.

More of the same tomorrow... but I AM working that one. Yippee...

Tried to walk after work... but it was really too cold and windy to enjoy it much... so I kept it short.

Opening Day at Fenway tomorrow too. Afternoon game to boot.

****ty commute it will be... no doubts in my mind. Game starts at the same time I'll should be reporting to work.

Yay. Here we go again for another year.

Maybe I'll walk to the subway station tomorrow morning... which will save the hassle of trying to find parking... but will hopelessly complicate getting back home at 11:30 at night.

*Sigh*

Hooray baseball season...

got my memory in today. installed it on my lunch break. swg is awesome with it.

work was lame. have to do inventory crap and it sucks. i'm feeling sleepless tonight.

i feel like crap.....my parents annoy me. i burnt my throat out on coffee this morning. that was fun.

tomorrow is going to suck or today rather. i get to work alone from 7 on, i can't really complain. more customers to satisfy. or ignore...

Battle is a pure form of expression. It is heart and discipline, reduced to movement and motion. In battle, the words are swept away, giving way to actions-- mercy, sacrifice, anger, fear. These are pure moments of expression.

Slept for a few hours... then woke up. Heyyyyy... that sucks.
At least I don't have to rush into work in the morning.

I'm also in a crappy mood again myself... but trying very hard to force myself not to be. It's so counter-productive to having any kind of a good life. And the only person I hurt with it is myself...

This was pretty funny...
