But the game was just...not that fun to play. You have ten levels to go through hacking up enemies. It's pretty easy. There are different combos, costumes, and lightsabers, but none of that really does anything, so...yeah. Your Force Powers are fun for about five minutes, then you get bored of shocking people with lightning and tossing stormtroopers around. The saber combat is totally lame. The movement feels stiff and unresponsive. Honestly, I thought the Force powers and lightsaber combat were all much better done in Jedi Outcast, and that game is what, 7 years old now?

I'd say just YouTube the cutscenes and don't bother with the actual game.

I have yet to try it on the higher difficulty levels, though, so perhaps that forces some strategy and makes for a more fun experience.
That was exactly my basic feeling based on playing the demo.

I'm sure I'll get it at some point, though... when it gets cheaper.

Had a real good game of curling today... Our team snapped it's two game losing streak. THo it took us to the fifth end to get back into it... and score. That is right, we allowed the opposing team to score once, and steal three times. But we tied it up in the 5th, and scored two more in the 7th to eventually win the game.

I made a couple of great shots. a "split raise" in the 5th which helped get our 4 points, and a difficult double take out to almost put the game away in the 8th

Well: Off to bed. Long day at work tomorrow. Facing a day of crappy weather, too.

I probably won't be around at midnight tomorrow night... so "Happy New Years!" fellas!

If I don't get another chance to post to this one: Thanks for an interesting 2008... and here's looking forward to a kick-ass '09!

Now the question is: Who's doing the honors for the new thread?

it was a decent year...2009 will be better.

played fable 2 just about all day....watched prince caspian as well.

i have to wake up and go to work at 9am tomorrow. not looking forward to it. 9-6...a fair 8 hours...friday i'm 3-10. thankful that i have new year's day off. i didn't even request it.

i requested valentine's day off sometime last week..,think i'll have a girlfriend by then, or was I being corrupt...by taking that day away from someone that does? only time will tell.

not sure if i'll be going out anywhere tomorrow...not enough cash on me til next week.

sorry to hear about your dog, scar. my sister's boyfriend had to put his dog down on saturday. =\ i hate when pets die or have to be put down.

Tell me about it. Commuting is going to be a bitch.

Worse coming home:
I'll have to shovel the driveway and walks before I'll be able to get into the house.

That will be a helluva lot of fun at 1 or 2 am tonight.

Oh joy of joys.

I booted this morning, and now, not only does my computer see the Firewire bus, but the card's net adapter works, where it wasn't before even if the Firewire bus was detected.

I hereby throw open the 2009 one-year thread for someone to start, as I'm at a loss for a title.

I like Kinnison's suggestion...anyone think they can top that?

I like to think I had a very good year. You knew much of it was going to be bowling-related...my return to league competition, my tear through my summer league, and nearly rolling my first 700 series in said summer league. My average has dropped off to 180 in my winter league, but I've had my moments, especially a few times in the 10th frame when I could win points for my team. Here's hoping I improve in '09.

I only sit down to pee when I'm too drunk to stand without leaning on the wall.

I'll be sitting to pee later tonight, and the boys are taking bets as to whether it'll be before the cops show up or after. We're having the 5th Annual NYE Noise Complaint Music Festival in my buddy's basement. Expected attendance this year: 2 kegs, 8 microphones, 6 guitarists, 3 bassists, 2 drummers, and 13 amplifiers. We start rocking as soon as there's a 3-peice band worth of musicians, people just kind of start setting up and joining in as they come, and we don't stop 'till the cops show up (at which point we politely apologize, give them coffee and doughnuts, and generally thank them for working on a night we're sure they'd rather not be). Last year the cops were parked outside the house at 10:50, waiting for the noise bylaw to kick in at 11:00 so they could come ask us to turn it down. We spoofed 'em an end-around and stopped playing at 10:59, brought them some freshly brewed coffee, and played Guitar Hero while we waited for them to leave, then after giving them 10 minutes to get somewhere far away fired it back up and made it to 12:17 before they came back.

New location this year... I've been assigned to a scouting party heading over to the old place and see if they show up around 11 again, so we can bring them their coffee and let them know we've moved. Won't tell 'em where... Just that we've moved.

I have a rig set in my bathroom for a "water blaster" game. So strong flow and aim are keys to popping the balloon

I kid

My kitty found an un wrapped Dum-Dum lollipop and is playing with it now... crazy cat. Keeps trying to pick it up and it falls out of his mouth
