You can grow that on your home. It's free in that case.

We have but another option:
Secretly build an underwater city at the Ocean Floor, invite tons of brilliant scientists, beautiful women, generic drug addicts, little girls with brothers, and big gorilla men with sons. Then all we need do is a nice speech, that criticizes not only God concept, but Capitalism and Communism as well while, ironically, our system will be a mix of both and an anarchic government.

We call it Rapture...

Uh, Rapture was a perfect Capitalist system.

Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow? No, says the man in Washington, it belongs to the poor. No, says the man in the Vatican, it belongs to God. No, says the man in Moscow, it belongs to everyone! I rejected all these answers. Instead, I chose something different. I chose the impossible. I chose Rapture.

Also, incidentally, Communism and Capitalism are not forms of government, they're economic styles. It's perfectly possible to have a Communist Democracy, a Capitalist Dictatorship, or a Socialist Monarchy. Incidentally, there are no true communist nations, only nations with Communist Ideals. Even the USSR was the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

Anyway, I'd call Rapture a Dictatorship.

Thats right. War is natural. War is always. For example a dispute between 2 peoples is war too, only not so brutal.
If there is an other earth like planet out there. They make war, too. And its STILL war. Look to Afghanistan or Iraq.

Well an idea is to a disarm of nuclear weapons. But say this to a country like North Korea or a dictatorial country!

Or is war an intention that we destroy ourselves again that its possible again a new world can give?

As long as you understand the concept of Ryan's "Great Chain" being solely capitalist, then Rapture is the Burgo Maxima.

Yeah, I know. And thought Ryan didn't "dictate" via laws, he was ultimately the law there.

Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow? Living by your own steam is pretty much the core ideal of Capitalism.

That much is true. And I consider it as the capitalism part of the system he built there. The communism influence come from the concept of the Great Chain: Everyone works together to achieve a common goal of prosperity... But each looks after what matters to them.

That's not communism, that's just community. I can set up a neighborhood program to clean up the streets without it being related to Communism in any way.

Answering the topic: No, we'll never have world peace. Not as long as there are Israelis and Palestinians fighting over the same piece of stupid land, just as they have been for the past thousand years.

See we can't even have a thread where everyone agrees without a battle breaking out... Jeez I think that's proof enough that there will never be world peace.

Did I say war? I don't believe I did... And a battle of wits is still a battle

And if we cannot even have a thread with no battle of wits going on even on something we are universally in agreement with, how are we ever expected to keep from escalating when there are issues we disagree on? Let alone if we disagree on where to draw the line on the map.

The only way we could get complete agreement on everything to achieve world peace would be if everyone was exactly the same. That's never going to happen.

Uh...

If there should be world peace "enforced" I would prefer something like the Matrix.

Though I don't want it designed by Microsoft, nor by Nintendo, ... Mario music all the time

On the other hand I don't know who I'dd like to design such a big system.

But it won't insure "peace" it would be a digitale war then, with spawn points.
And some crazy booming voice yelling "head-shot" while your in the trenches blasting away.( + some epic melody )

Strange but looking at the forum it seems everyone agrees there is not such thing possible as "world" peace.

Let alone that someone is with peace with himself / herself.

What about that ?

Anyone wants a Mad Max world ? It has buggys and V8's ?

@Ctrl: I've read your post.

But run the world by machines could also be something like the TERMINATOR, we don't that now do we.

I then prefer the machines of the Matrix.

Perhaps Skynet is not such a bad idea ?

Maybe Skynet is a bit drastic, what if we changed its programming to be less agresive.

That might be the best thing to do, let machines do the goverment tasks.

And if we do that in every country around the world , who knows what might happen.

Perhaps the baddest scenario would be that like of I robot. Humies getting locked up to preserve them of doing something stupid and hurt themselfs or others.

Well, only problem with programming is that if the machine becomes self-aware, it will probably exceed its programming. If that happens.....let's hope they view Asimov as a kind of god. I still think that a good way to rock the rest of the world back on its heels would be to export all our excess lawyers to gum up their systems.

Hmm, makes me think about this, though I've no idea where I seen or read this story about a 'world'; where when people are in such argument and close to fighting they get thrown out to fight it out in a sort of an arena.

Its kinda a funny idea that could actually work really well.
Like when you get these nasty trouble with elections ( I'm thinking of Africa not the USA )and other sometimes heated discussion things ( religion and such ) you throw in the hotheads who like to fight for that kind of thing into an arena and let them rip them each other apart in there, instead of blasting and shooting up citys / countrys / world.

Might have been Mad Max, ... ThunderDome ?

Well, I'm sure there are probably examples in literature (history?) where each side chose a champion and hashed out their problems in a duel. Hell, dueling wasn't exactly unheard of back around the founding of this country. Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton settled their differences in a duel that claimed Hamilton's life in the early 1800s.
