LucasForums + Instant Chat = ????
Who here thinks that there should be a chatting IM service on LucasForums???
Cuz, i don't know about you guys, but when you are waiting for more people to add on to a thread, you can get pretty bored...Lets say if there was an IM page, you could chat with fellow star wars fans faster about anything...
personally, i think it would make waiting for thread replies a lot more fun..
for those who don't know, IM means Instant Message

That would lead to human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!
Seriously though, some of the network sites have chat pages already in place. There's also always the network IRC channels. That sounds like it would be right down your ally.

The are called shout-boxes. One such example can be found here. However most boards that I use have MyBB so I'm not sure on the compatibility or how good it is.
There is a bot that allows for multiple users to chat to one and other on Windows Live Messenger without revealing email addresses. I use it with several other different forums and it's great. An admin can sign up here and post the address here. The site is Messenger Group Chat.

Every major LF forum is tied to an LFN website. For example, the Jedi Knight series is part of JediKnight.net. Some of these sites have corresponding IRC chat rooms or chat boxes on the websites themselves. I would just use those if I were you;

If we add a shoutbox to LF, it will be unhelpful and hard to moderate.
