Edit time threshold changed?
I recently noticed that it seems like the time limit for a post to be edited without being timestamped as edited seems to have shortened. Is this something I didn't notice as part of the upgrade or was this a recent change to the forums settings?
IIRC I used to be able to edit a post within 10 minutes of posting it without having the edited by timestamp appearing on the post. Now that threshold seems to be 5 minutes or less.
EDIT: check edit timestamp

It was defaulted to 3 minutes. I've bumped it back up to 10 minutes which, I agree, seems more reasonable.

Wow! That was quick turnaround tk.
On the other hand, it only took me 2 and a half months to notice this was happening.

I have a question. I recently made a blog and set it to moderate comments. how do i approve them? I don't see any options other than the view filter.
EDIT: I have a check box and an action option for my own comments on the blog but not for anyone else's comments. Thus my comments will be displayed but no one else's can be

vBulletin 3.8
LucasForums has been upgraded to vBulletin v3.8; despite the version jump there shouldn't be much differences in how things work from before. The biggest noticeable change from a member's perspective is the revamped Social Groups feature, and some new private messaging features.
If you notice anything that seems to look or work oddly, or you feel should work differently, please let us know.

The report PM feature could turn out to be handy... or possibly a real pain for Admins.

And the new Social Group interface is rather well done. At first I found it a little hard to navigate, but I think people will adapt to it.

So does this indicate a shift in LF policy?
Because I was told it was LF policy not to moderate PMs unless they were explicit in their language, image, or intent.

I don't think they will be moderated - but it'll make it easier to bring problematic ones to Moderators attention, I think.

I'm not aware of any change. As far as I know the standard rules apply to PMs as well, but nobody's going to check what's in another member's PM box. (Staff members can't read other members' PMs unless someone forwards them to them). What goes on there is pretty much a matter between the sender and recipient of the PMs.

I haven't even checked, but there is actually a report pm feature now, right?
If that's the case, I would imagine it would falsify this statement.

This is a difference in policy and capability. Stoffe is saying we will not pro-actively moderate PMs as a matter of policy. I'm not even sure the capability to drop in on someone's PM box even exists in the software (I looked you up in the admincp just to be sure and saw no option ). That's not to say that we couldn't pull the message right out of the database under special circumstances. For instance, complying with a court order or some such.

I've disabled the report PM link. It would email all moderators the contents of the PM but of course the context of the PM exchange would be lost. I don't think we're missing out in turning this feature off and I suspect that oftentimes this would draw moderators into an area where they don't need to be.
If a PM really needs to be brought to the attention of staff, the user should forward it on to an admin.

Quick PMs
I noticed there were quick pm messages now, I have to say great idea to whoever did this! I always thought pming took a long time.
EDIT: As marius said can this be moved into the LF upgraded thread?
