He's quite a weird mix. Soldier/Medic/Consular...what the hell?

As a soldier, he's quite competent, but nowhere as good in combat as the Handmaiden or Mandalore.

As a consular, he lacks enough base wisdom to be really strong. But I guess he's a well balanced consular.

I voted for the Handmaiden anyway...

I know the Handmaiden doesn't look so bright in that scene either, but she doesn't have to think about this being a trap. Despite all, I don't dislike the Disciple, but it's the Handmaiden any time.

I'm a girl but I still vote for Handmaiden. Disciple is way too serious!

In Kotor 1 I very much enjoyed the humour in the game, no matter whether you played female or male. Female dialogues with Carth were hilarious. You could sometimes argue with him and the dialogue options cracked me up more than once. Per example, to one of my heartless anwers he replied " I could probably get the same kind of attention from a blaster rifle." and I could answer: " Oh, I think there's things I can do that a blaster can't"

(There were also Jolee's, Canderous and HK's stories that I enjoyed a lot but it's another topic)

I found that in Kotor 2, especially when playing a female PC, everything was way too serious. At least when you play a male PC you have the girls getting jealous: handmaiden can drop you there, there's the dancing thing, etc. Overall, handmaiden has more personality than Disciple who has just an accent (and he looks terrible when playing DS but luckily this can be fixed easily).

...and Atton, apart when you can turn him into a Jedi, he has not much to talk about except pazaak

I hate to say it but change Disciple's starting class to Tech Specialist (requires some stat editing), fix the errors in his dlg file, and edit out some of his more repetitive combat vo's and he's the best damned party member you could have. Heals you, replenishes your FP, portable lab bench, mad skillz, and a fairly decent consular? Forget about it.

Why, because of all the points mentioned above. And you can learn battle precognition from her. (adds wisdom modifier to defense). I think it is one of the most usefull feats in the game, yet it can only be gained as male. I don't see any advantage from disciple, only an extra mouth to feed on your ship.
And yes I find her way hotter than disciple

I like the Handmaiden better, because I just thought she had a better role than Di in the game even thought they basically have the same abilities.

The Handmaiden is more useful than the Disciple. Combining Soldier with Jedi Consular is an unwise class chose, because Disciple wisdom is simply too low, and the result is that the character is weak, as a Jedi Consular, for example compared to Kreia. In the same way, the Handmaiden is well balanced as a Soldier/Guardian, and is possible to have her in the party even if you are not using a male playing character (using the Handmaiden mod created by stoffe-mkb). Also, the Disciple has that good boy attitude that I never liked in a character (like Carth in Kotor I, but Carth is a pivotal character, and well suited for his class, Disciple is not, especially as a Jedi). So I voted the Handmaiden, even if I'm a girl.

Well I'd pick Mical for the "I won't run back to my former master with a prize" kinda attitude HandMaiden seems to have.

In a game for real playthrough value though I'd pick handmaiden every time.

She's just a better character in my book.

Plus she can teach you how to not get your arse kicked in unarmed combat
