do sneak attack work from behind if you're not hidden?

I know in 3e D&D, sneak attacks work if you're flanking an enemy. I'm wondering if they work the same way in KotOR I.

Basically, lets say my Scoundrel and Bastila are in melee with an enemy, and we're each on one side of that enemy. Will I get bonus sneak attacks even though I'm not hidden?

My diapers have gone over to the dark side.

Yup.

Sneak Attack only works if the target is within 10 meters. The extra damage is not multiplied in the case of a critical hit.
