Does anybody know what species nihilus is?
Or what is under his mask?
I either wonder if there is thoughts of what he might be or fan art of what you think is under his mask.
I personally think it would be cool if he was general grevious' species.
Post any thoughts.

We're told what is under his mask - 'Just a man', in the words of Visas.
As to his species, Human, i'd say, as they are often capable of great greed,
such as Nihilus' for life.
I know what she said but a man is a gender or sex.
I don't want a answer that does not make any sense i'm just wondering what would you like nihilus to look like.
Like some weird space creature a new species with images of what you are talking about.

I'm gonna stick with the Exile-Nihilus theory. Nihilus is the opposite of the 'canon' exile. The Exile is Lightside Female, while Nihilus is Darkside Male (but, not reversed for if your a male.).
So, imagine either a really tough looking guy in the Darkside, or a really girly looking guy <_<
I'm gonna stick with the Exile-Nihilus theory. Nihilus is the opposite of the 'canon' exile. The Exile is Lightside Female, while Nihilus is Darkside Male (but, not reversed for if your a male.).

Nihilus is opposite to the Exile in a sense that they were presented the same choice, yet chose opposite paths - Which itself should have no bearing on the gender, appearance or age of Nihilus whilst he actually had an idenitity.
Anyways, I recently bought the KOTOR campaign guide - And it contains a pretty neat tidbit of information that offers some hints about his origins;
Quote:
"Victim of the Mandalorian Wars, the man who became Nihilus lost everything; his possessions, his loved ones, and the will to live."
I find the concept of Nihilus being a metaphysical representation of the Exile's Sins or something along those lines to be fairly ludicrous. Sion and Traya were both flesh and blood, Sion's Wolverine-like regeneration capabilities notwithstanding. I see no reason to believe that Nihilus is a ghost or some kind of figment.
I think the nihilus is some weird immortal keldor-type thing.
It would be cool if the creators put more into nihilus' story in later books or media...

Incidentally, I really hate that the Dark Side somehow mutates your body, especially since it seems to do it at about light speed. Case in point, KotoR. You do a few evil things, and you look like a Wight.
Apart from his original identity, I think Nihilus has already been adequately explained in the game itself. Nihilus isn't a ghost, he's a man who like the Exile was turned into a walking Wound in the Force at the Battle of Malachor V and was subsequently consumed by his urge to feed that wound through draining Force Sensitives.
I'm sure the comic series will show us who will become Darth Nihilus eventually.

She was probably just speaking metaphorically, especially since she says he's an oncoming storm (ok, she definitely doesn't say that, but something like that ) if her alignment is DS. And after all, this is Visas we're talking about; she never says anything literal, always is mumbling about echoes and the Force and her "feelings".

I hope not. It better not be Zayne, you hear?!
But anyway, if you check some of the concept/promotional art, there's a face. It's very...dark, as if his face has been all burned up. Looks human. After all, Nihilus was probably just a Jedi who fought at Malachor, and all Jedi in K2 are human ('cept Bao-Dur and the near-human Visas).

How does my answer not make sense? You asked the question 'what species is he? and what's under the mask?', and I gave you an answer.
It's stated several times he's a human, and that he's a male, so it makes sense that a man will be underneath the mask.

How's the book working for you, Silver? I think it's great.
Maybe a bit out of order, but the Kotor comics will shortly start a story arc that turns some people into Dark Siders. Why it's interesting?
This is the first victim to fall to the Dark Side in this arc:
A possible Sion.
And guess what? His best friend/padawan, Lucien Draay, has lost everything at this point. His position as a Jedi Master, he's accused (rightfully) of murder....and he has a mother called Krynda. All three Sith Lords could originate from these 3....Sion, Nihilus, Kreia...
PS: They're part of a secret covenant who plans to hunt down all Sith, going as far as killing their own padawans. Sounds Dark Sidish to you?
I haven't read any of the comics, but reading about the characters you mention on Wookieepedia, they do seem to have attitudes mirroring each of the Triumvirate.
And from the game, the things the Master says about Kreia may point to the direction you're hinting at too.

I don't see why people believe Haazen could be Sion, it really makes no sense to me at all.
- Hazzen and Sion have completely different personalities.
- Hazzen has a prosthetic right arm and eye, whereas Sion does not.

Those points alone should squash that theory. :P
Sion does have his right arm covered up and a dead eye, Haazan's right arm and eye could be artistic representation of that, and he could quite plausibly become sion IMO, but I think we should tackle the beginnings of K1 and it's characters before we assign TSL's band of idiots to print.
Topic: well we kinda Know Nihilus is humanoid, his black skin could be due to him being.. er... Black, or indeed a Dark side interpretation of himself. I have the figure and he has dreadlocks lol
Well, I don't see him as much more than a human. Check his build and the shape of his mask, which gives us a nice idea of how his face is. Looks human to me.

Indeed. I can't imagine Haazen turning to a subservient Sith Lord. Methinks the comics intetionally did so that these characters remembered the triuvirate as a feint to divert the readers attention.
Why isn't the arm attached OVER the stump? This is Old Republic technology..maybe they couldn't attach it directly to the stump? Remember, Haazen got his wounds in the Great With war...which goes even further back.
It's just that the mass collection of possible evidence is...strange. We don't know what happened with Sions eye...maybe he put someone else's in his own socket after his artificial one was destroyed?
And for change of behaviour...Malak and Revan changed. Nihilis wasn't norn as a destroyer of worlds...I think tragedy or other stuff can change people

I agree here. The Exile-Nihilus theory is a good one, but I really doubt it has anything at all to do with how Nihilus's old life was (appearence, etc.)

Although I think Krynda may be Kreia/Traya, I don't think that Haazen becomes Sion. The prosthetics don't help him here. Really, Lucien Draay looks like he's heading in that direction in the comics (, and he's more likely to be subervient to someone in personality). Just think about the conversation with Sion to a male Exile about the "favorite son" thing. Creeeeppppyyyy... but interesting.

Amen! I kinda like Zayne; he's just a kid in over his head. It would be horrible for him to end up as Nihilus...
i reckon hes human.
remember one of the possible response in her conversation with him was
"still human enough to feel betrayal?" (concerning visas)
and, if you really increase the brightness of your monitor + the brightness of the game to a degree, nihilus has quite a humanly shaped head behind the mask. and, there was a cut menu in the game featuring the twin suns with nihilus and and gawking cannok. that wouldnt work if he wasnt a human/close to human!

Be warned, if you read the comics, this is probably a major spoiler.

Eventually Nihilus became so absorbed by the Dark side of the Force that his physical body began erode. Knowing he would die if he did not act soon, Nihilus ripped his spirit from his body and encased it in the armor he wore. Allowing the dark side to consume him, as his body dissolved completely. Using the force he was able to keep his robes, armor and mask held together giving him some form, allowing him to use his force powers and wield a lightsaber, but apart from that he had no physical form.
Short stories: T'katlu: On the planet Felucia, a young apprentice of the Dark Side thinks back to the beginning of her training as she lies in wait for her prey...
All the Time: After four years in the Unknown Regions, the Exile returns to the known galaxy to visit an old enemy.
Broken: A master of the Dark Side finds himself about to lose the one thing he cares about--and he will do anything to stop her from endangering herself.
I hope not, I dont wanna see the 'triumvirate' at all in the comics! just that small explanation of nihilus sums up how out of place these characters are in SW.
Star Wars - Knights of the Old Republic - Campaign Guide
spoiler:
Victim of the Mandalorian Wars, the man who became Nihilis lost everything: his possessions, his loved ones, and the will to live. While illness cannibalizes his body, a vast emptiness devours his humanity. Then, when all seems lost, he discovers that this emptyness hungered. The first time, he fed it unconsciously. Draining another being's life is frightening, nauseating, but for a euphoric moment, the memories, the illness, and the hunger disappeared. (Hey! Soul Eater from Nverwinter 2: Mask Of Betrayer)
There is more to the story, but I just cut it down for simplicity.

That's from Wookieepedia. I don't read the comics, so I put it in a spoiler tag in case someone who did didn't want to know. Thanks for putting that other part in, Yar-el!

Anytime Endorenna. I would have added more information, but it only repeats what people experienced in The SIth Lords.
