Model permission

I want to borrow a model from a modder that is not availible anymore.
What exactly should i do?
His name is Darth Tempust and i bleive he is not avalible anymore.
Just tell me what ishould do pleas...

I think I know. He's looking for his Improved Kyle Katarn model, I guess. I found it at his Filefront file page, here:

I'm guessing you want to use that model for Kyle in your DFII mod right Katarn00? If I were you I would just use Raven's model instead Darth Tempust's model.

Well, I already knew how to do that because I have one of those pages myself. I more or less have just about the same number of files Tempust stuck on his; I've seen people who have those that have stored upwards of ninety to one hundred files on theirs.

Jedimike has given me some info on Darth Tempust but he's apparently has not been active since 2006.Like he said i'm in a tight situation.If one of the jkfiles staff could help me out a bit that would be nice,since i don't really have many options...

What makes you think JKFiles' staff are any more capable of contacting modders than you are?

While it's true that the JKFiles database contains contact details which may not be out in the public, handing those details out would be a violation of FF's Privacy Policy.

Aside from tracking the modder down, there's not much you can do.

if you have his file, there should be a readme file with his email. send an email to him asking for his permission and copy yourself on it and save the email to included in your work. Give it a few weeks and if you havn't heard from him then at least you have proof you tried to get his permission. then continue on with what you are trying to do. if you can't get ahold of the person you still have the proof that you tried to contact him or her. this is just what i've seen on different forums that had the same question. don't take it for gospel. however that is what i would do. : )

thats what i sort of advised agent katarn00 to do,but i think he may try to contact inyri since she is a reviewer over at jk3files.just to clear up any doubts,but yeah its the way to go,i just remember there was a situacion over at jk3files about someone not getting permission for the use of a model and i think it got taken down,the submitter claimed he got permission when he didnt,and the author showed up.but in this case it seems pretty hard to get in touch with darth tempust.

yeah there is always a chance of that happening but if email them and keep a copy and included that in your finish product then it shouldn't really matter. But hey some people are weird like that.

Inyri hasn't been a FileFront Network staff member since April, and even if she were it wouldn't matter as FF volunteers are legally unable to give you the personal details of other individuals.
