I'm incredibily excited about the upcoming game. First of all, I can't get enough of the rabbit and dog duo. Purcell's comedy appeals to me much more than the writing of Monkey Island and other similar adventure games. Sam & Max is so much like other games in one perspective, but when one looks at the wit, humor and overall great writing of the original game, one should be excited about possibly revisiting such humor. There hasn't been a game that comes close to Sam & Max's style, and I'm nearly peeing my pants in anticipation for a sequel.
Second, I'm interested into what Infinite Machines is going to do! The little I know is that Sam & Max is most likely going to be published for the X-Box (I'll have no X-Box insulting here, start a new topic

), and that it is going to be an action-adventure kinda game. Infinite Machine is a quality developer, just look at the upcoming game New Legends. I trust that they will pay tribute to the original game, but yet take it in an incredibly new direction. I'm interested to see what they can do.
I know it's sad that Sam & Max isn't being published or developed by LEC, but if a quality game featuring that hyperkinetic bunny, and that loveable dog of a detective will be produced, who really cares? I'm glad to see that good ole Purcell is involved in the development of that game, and that is a very, very good thing. I can't wait! In the meantime, I'll be clawing at the dashboard and shrieking like a cheerleader...or not.
This may be the very reason I buy an X-Box.
